Agreed - though have to admit, I use three DHC and the Quad cannon (+ Quantum torp launcher) on my T5 Sao Paulo - I realise phasers are not necessarily the most effective weapons, but I love the Quad cannons (and the sound effect!).

I could have sworn it was only an aprox 10% increase when I tested it last.... Its possible though. heck I've been wrong before.... damn now I have to spend an afternoon teseting. lol

I'll get a set of greens with critd... and a set of whites or something... and hit sb24 up 2-3 times each... and go over the log. hopefuly the averaged out numbers will be easy enough to figure it out.

I use tactical team in my setup, I always have, but why do you have tact team two times in your set up? Using the one puts the other on auto refresh. Lastly op could you provide me a link to the advanced escort set up your were talking about making? Thank you.

The cool down on tac team is 30 seconds. The Global cool down is 15 seconds...

So one copy means 10 seconds up every 30 seconds... where as 2 copies means 20 seconds up ever 30 seconds.

Escorts have nothing better to put in that slot. Tac team 1 x 2 is pretty much defacto escort ensign setup.

That depends how much of a drunken master you are...


CRF3,
APD2/APO1, CSV2, tend to occupy the top 3 boff slots.

Below that depends if you are going 4x DHC, 3XDHC and a Torp, or 3XDHC and a DBB.

I guess I like the idea of the sheer spike from a DBB AP:A, but BO(x) has been very hit or miss for me (literally, and not because of my blood alcohol level). I figure peeps would prefer all DHCs or the DHC/torp setup, or am I totally off the mark? Is it situational?

use cannons. get close. (crf2x2 and omega3) (3clicks)

slow down! you are tankier than you think.

use tac team.

Guten tag again guys.

So I've bought the MVAE and it's an unbelievable amount of fun to fly, whole different game to using a cruiser.

I am learning though and I still have a lot of questions.

Is it better to take AP:O3 or C:RF3 in the Com. slot?

I'm also using a 3 x DHC, 1 x DBB front layout at the minute, mostly out of laziness (I wanted to get into space ASAP and I had the stuff lying in my inventory). That said, I'm really iffy on the DBB. The spike is quite nice to have, and it puts the dangling Ensign Tac to use, but it also occasionally drains strength from the DHCs. Another thing is that it benefits from the four Tac consoles, so there's that.

However, I'm thinking of switching to either a torp or a flat-out all DHC build. The only thing keeping me from going straight DHCs is, again, the Ensign Tac. I've wondered if it might even be worth it just to write him off as a lost cause. I could put the MVAM console into the Advanced Escort, I suppose, but I do love that Lt. Com. Science slot...

Suggestions and corrections much, much appreciated.
