# 1 STF Difficulty

Me and the Fleet were doing STF elite and these Borgs cube hit way to high at 88K HP. Now the sphere's hit at 20k? and Now the Gate has Invisible torpedo? That has never happened before. You guys made it way to hard, there's no way that borgs can hit harder than before.

I mean I was 100% full hull and WHAM! a sphere took me out with one shot? Hellloooo!!!!! Another thing that when we all got our odysseys we hit pretty good against the borg with a -1 now they're back to 0 and hit even harder? I dont think this is fun STF imo.

well, to be fair, even with the best gear i have seen people in dreadnauts get 1 hit by the invisable torp/beam/doomsday cannon.... and if we could see it that would be one thing but.....when bam your dead....I at least want to see death coming.....

Note to OP: dont cry, just accept that you gotta repair and respawn, I agree its a bit overkill, but I think its how the dev's avoided giving the cubes proper powers for their ranks(like ensin/lt/comm/cpt), I agree it would be better if rather then an invis 1 hit wonder weapon it would be better to have them be more like fighting another person at your same level, the problem is, the dev's dont seem to be interested in that idea OR their bosses dont, the only fix for that is to change the minds of those who make the decissions.

let me be honest, I would love to fight mobs that where on par with what ships of their level can have for powers who could use them like a person would, rather then the SNK boss feel we have now.....

Stick with escorts in STF's. They're "supposed to blow up" alot anyways. Plus, I rarely run into anyone with other ships giving out support. DPS for the win. Btw, I'm being a bit sarcastic.

Sarcasm or not, it's sage advice.

For Elite STFs, Escorts are - far and away - the best way to go. I fly a cruiser most of the time, but if the fleet is gearing up for an Elite run, I'll switch out to my Defiant or Fleet Escort (depending on just how suicidal I'm feeling...)

As you've experienced, OP, the Borg don't really care how beefy your ship is. Whether you're in a Defiant or an Odyssey, an 88k Critical will in all probability destroy you in one shot. There are only two certainties in STO's endgame - Death and Dilithium taxes. Roll with it. The damage potential of escorts far outweighs their glass jaw in this particular instance, and you will fail the optional every time unless you can keep high levels of damage up over the course of the mission.

Safest solution? 4 Escorts and 1 Science ship with Tractor Beams and Gravity Wells. Escorts deal the damage, Science ship pins down anything getting too close to the Gate/Transformer/Kang.

i would agree in genral, but gowkaiser has shown how useful a sci vessel and sci build can be in stf's, its not for nooberts tho....they should prob stick to tactical builds.

Pretty much that, actually. If you get blown up either way, you might as well do some damage before your ship inevitably explodes.

pro tip: ifyour about to blow and can use ramming speed to ram the borg, you wont have to repair

its why alot of the time i over on top of the cube when i got a ramming speed cooled down, i know im gonna die, may as well avoid repairing when i can....

some cry about dieing, I just accept it, till they decide to properly balance the game(never?) this is how they decided to make it harder....invisable 1 hit kill weapons for enimies.....wish i could fire that kinda attack even if it was a 1 off per round.....
