I think the title of the thread makes his point pretty clear. He wants a T5 Oberth.

Personally, I've always been in favor of all the era-appropriate ships getting T5 versions.

And considering that to my mind that only rules out the NX, the TOS Constitution, and the Class F shuttle..

Well.. I've always been a fan of the Oberth and the Nova/Rhode Island, and still wish they'd gone with the Lower-Tier + T5 model with them like they did the Nebula and the Excelsior.

Yeah, and I want some other stuff, but I don't quite get his reasoning.
Because at the last line of defense there was a functioning ship they threw at the cube...I don't quite get it.
Does this mean when someone throws a group of infantrymen to fight a tank those infantrymen are as strong as the tank?

Every battle needs fodder. It's the sole purpose that they still have Mirandas in that time period.

Not trying to hate or anything, but it seems obvious that in that situation it would play the role of a support craft rather than a front line attacker.

*although, it would make an interesting element to the game if you made it so people could run these craft successfully at tier 5 inside of PvP and STF style of missions on the basis that they are in groups. So, like an Oberth could come with tech that alters the dynamic of the group in such a way that it negates the fact that the ship has a pink interior.

i just found a Oberth in First Contact fighting a Borg Cube.. and it didn't explode!

Fighting is not the same as winning. My NX can fight a Tactical Cube in an Elite STF. That doesn't mean he's going to win.

...yet.

WIth some of the folks you never know if it's a joke.
