From the moment you meet the ambassador nothing suggests that he should be escorted to the P'Jem system. The fact that Savin has forbade the ambassador should be enough to end the mission, in fact. Instead, the player is forced to give his word that, essentially, the ambassador won't do anything to cause problems on P'Jem.
I met the guy five seconds ago, he screams "do not trust me," and then I'm forced to defend him by being funneled into the most illogical choice imaginable? How ironic that this all takes place on Vulcan.
If it was hard to stomach to begin with, it seemed like the only thing I could do was drop the mission when I was put into the situation as a Vulcan officer.
