Hate to tell you but they shown the Chafee being launched from the Defiant's underside. And there is concept art of what the shuttlebay supposed to look like.
Except for the problem that it wouldn't realistically fit anywhere. Again, this is a testament to how the designers just wouldn't bother locking down the ships size and allowed it to change from week to week, considering the chaffee is larger than a type-8 shuttle, but strangely isn't a warp capable shuttle, unlike the type-8.

The Danubes did tend to operate independently, but they were carried on the Enterprise for delivery. But the Delta Flyer spent most of it's time in Voyager's shuttle bay so that one is definitely a shuttle.

The Enterprise supposedly had a compliment of Danube class runabouts which some were offloaded onto DS9, as well as the Captain's Yacht, and of course smaller shuttles and shuttlepods.

Chaffee is warp-capable, it simply has Defiant-style nacells rather than standard ones. And the Chaffee fits so long as you go with more reasonable dimensions rather than the ones that are in the various technical manuals. But more to the point, there are only a couple of ships (Defiant, B'Rel) where size is really going to be an issue. For 95% of ships there is plenty of room for a nice, big shuttle bay.

Actually the Chaffee isn't, as it doesn't have an anti/matter warp core and instead relied on impulse power. I know probably in STO they fly at warp but they aren't going anywhere very fast in the series.

Wouldn't realistically fit anywhere? Are you kidding?

The Chaffee is ~10 meters in length and the Defiant is listed as 120 meters in length. Thats like putting your car garage in the area of 3 average suburban homes.

So yes, it is very realistic.

As for the Chaffee having warp drive, as stated above, it does with the Defiant-Style nacelles.

Wasn't then Chaffee only seen once (The Sound of Her Voice, I think the episode was called)? Aside from that, they usually use shuttlepods which were much smaller. I don't believe they showed either going to warp, so any claims that they can is just hearsay.

Anyways. I think it would be great if we could show our shuttle launching from the ship (select switch to shuttle onnthe same menu the bridge button is and it shows your currently selected shuttle launching, your view focuses on the shuttle and your ship warps away, to reverse, return to ship, the snipmwarps in, the shuttle docks and your view is switched back). Granted, in the case of smaller ships, they might have tonget crestive, but it would be nice. It would also be neat to have custom animations for launching a captains yacht from a soverign of the D'Kyr auxillary craft from a D'Kyr

The Defiant is no less than 170 meters. The DS9 TM is not a reliable source.

Firstly, the Defiant has no listed size. Secondly, those are impulse drive engines, not warp nacelles, it even states it doesn't have an anti-matter/matter warp core. It's even stated as such which means it is incapable of warp flight.

No.

See the warp nacells + Bussard collector? It was as warp capable as any other shuttle.
