Originally, it was this discussed in this: http://forums.startrekonline.com/sho...d.php?t=255896

Now to add more fun to the mix. I bought a copy from Amazon.com LLC, and it has trouble activating and when it does it gives me Wal-Mart Pre-Order stuff.

So I posted a Support Ticket on PerfectWorld

Star Trek Online Retail Edition Not Activating Reference #120221-000419 Updated 02/21/2012

Proof of Purchase (Censored Version)

If it is a Wal-Mart Edition... then I would need it deactivated so I can return it to Amazon to receive the correct edition.

Or better option, just remove the Wal-Mart bonuses and give me the Amazon.com bonus since the item was sold by Amazon.com thereby making it an Amazon copy.

That is if Cryptic has access to the PerfectWorld support, if not I will have to find another to contact.

If the answer is "Different editions, different items", deactivate the Star Trek Retail Edition so it can be returned to Amazon.com for a proper Amazon edition of the game.

Yes, I bought two copies. One is a GIFT copy for a friend. The other is for myself, but the gift copy is not activated or given out until this situation with my copy that has been activated has been rectified.

I also find it difficult being a customer stuck between two companies and just trying to add a copy for certain items and a certain edition and getting the run around.

Over 24 hours since I put the ticket and no response... not even an automated one outside of the ticket confirmation on PerfectWorld STO report.

Sadly, since they went to F2P, the time delay on any kind of response from tech support has jumped to several days if not longer. Yup, that's right, you read correctly... The really only thing you can do is wait and or send it back citing your reasons. Best of luck.

Yes, I figured that would be the game. I just hope I am not shooting myself in the foot by using the Perfect World Support system like the websites direct me to. Probably open a ticket in game referencing the PW one to make it easier for them. That is if they have access, which working with large organizations it can be a toss up.
