How the hell am I suppose to kill a Klingon if every time I hurt them they blitz off and cloak?

Do enough damage to kill them quickly? graviton pulse console? Have a cloaked defiant follow you around to jump the bop when he uncloaks? play a klingon?

There's no cooldown to the cloaking. The second they pop out, they hit me and then disappear just as quickly as they came, and they repeat this over and over again. I can't do anything about it. It's just so god damn frustrating that I can't do anything but keep popping my defensive abilities.

Mmm no. As a matter of fact, I seem to see more Federation escorts dealing crazy damage than Klingons. You'll find the odd one but, on a general level, I don't think there's a real difference.

Go play a klinkgon.... 20 seconds is the cool down on cloak. If a bop declocks they can not recloak for 20 seconds.

Any other ship with a cloak must break combat first.

Here is a real crazy thought.... UNLOAD some of the defensive skills.... and load some stuff that might perhaps kill the bop. If you need help there are currant good cruiser, good sci and I think a half way decent escort thread in this section go read them... and ask for help there if you don't understand some of the concepts or have questions... NO one is going to give you a hard time for asking questions.

You probably saw a B'rel use it's improved battle cloak to pop out and shoot a torp or something.

The use of that ability that way is so bad it's laughable. Regular battle cloak and normal cloak are 20 seconds cooldown.

Part of the reason the federation seems weaker by comparison is because they have the wrong mentality for ship builds.

Klingons tend to play like pack animals, focusing on one target for quick kills. They worry lessT about defense, and more about crippling their opponent.

Federation plays with a mentality if 1v1. Cruisers are designed so that no single ship can destroy them. However, that build also means that unless the fight goes on for a long time, the cruiser can't kill anything either. That mentality is flawed in PvP because while they survive well 1v1, when 4-5 ships are baring down on it, it gets crushed (all the while putting out no pressure on opponents).

Klingons pump all damage into one target and plays for burst kills, Federation spreads damage around and tries to play for the long haul. The burst kill removes the feds one by one, ensuring they never have the time for the long haul.
