Hi Ive been looking around for this for a while now. Would someone mind explaining the math behind weapon procs? Each has a chance of 2.5% to proc, but what happens when you have multiple weapons? 8 vs 6? Dual cannons vs beams? etc.

I know its not a simple matter of 2.5*X amount of weapons.

And how would you calculate the PPM? (proc per minute)

It's 2.5% per pulse per weapon, each proc is calculated separately to all the others.

Is this right?
Say I have 2 Beam Arrays and 3 Turrets
The Arrays have a rate of fire of 1.25 shots per second or 48 in a minute.
The Turrets have a rate of fire of .75 shots per second or 80 in a minute.

That means a total of 80*3 + 48*2 = 336 "shots" or chances at getting a proc.
336 shots per min * 0.025 proc chance per shot = 8.4 procs per min.
60 sec / 8.4 = 7.14 sec per proc.

This is in an ideal situation where all weapons are firing all the time.
Things that might lower the rate are not being in firing arc or conversely using rapidfire.

But they don't stack if that's what you are wondering. So you can't achieve, say, 8 plasma fires at the same time on a very lucky volley.

I would compare proc rates to the game of Bingo.

The chances of winning is the same on player card, but the more you have, the greater the chance that one of the cards will win.
