I dunno, I think the Ferrari Guy could play the crap out of a Kar'fi.
But seriously, if you're trying to play a KDF carrier like a Fed cruiser, you're probably doin' it wrong. If you want to play toe-to-toe like that, you're probably better off with something with better hull strength like a Vo'quv Carrier instead. That's just the starting point. It might help if you tell us if you're running fighters or frigates, what sort of weapons and BOs you're using, etc. You know, a build-out
It's funny that there's threads complaining about how OverPowwered Klingons ships are in one section, and another complaining they are so weak in another...
Like others have said, it's about BO layouts, skills you spec'd into and weapons loadout in this game.
Agreed with this statement. I had the same issue the past couple weeks thought I was hot **** till some guys and gals put me in my correct place (thank you advance escort and b'rel). After that I went on here spent a couple days studying builds and messaging people (thank you for dealing with me.)
You are most likely running a bad setup its what I was doing.
i try to play my klingon char but all the time we get killed by things that the feds would have no problem with and when i fly my carrier the fighters never obey commands. when playing my klingon in the episodes we don't have enough missions. not only that but when we are in the space war zone i can fight feds 15 -23 lev under me and die without even denting there shields. tthe feds also have more tek then we do and in the stf missions the klingon ver of equipment we get suck. whats up with all that.
until i can update my ship with full Mk XII con's and some other things i will not post anything but to those who said to look up some builds i will and thank you those who were not complete jerks.
I've survived pack fire from 4 feds in my Kar'fi, had epic carrier battles lasting longer then 40 - 50 mins before destroying my prey, gone head to head with some really tough opponents and loved it!
How? planning, balance, survival, knowing your opponent, watching the buff symbols, counting the seconds, pre-empting their strikes.
Making sure your spec is set up for it too.
Hot swapping hanger fighters / siphons / bops etc, hot swapping consoles and space weapons to suit.
The carriers are so multi versatile, you need to pre plan and get a friend to pvp with you so you can try different methods.
Aside from that if you want help, post as much info and as said by numerous ppl we will help you.
It's not the Machine its the operator.......
Please no more mysery .. err .. Mystery boxes........
KDF & SFC are totally different factions, you want it easy, play SFC, real warriors are found KDF side......
. i set up my carrier just like my sovie on my fed and it does not hold were my sovie has no problem.
This isn't really possible. The bridge officer loadouts are quite different, and you have one less weapon in the back on the carrier. Plus the carrier has varying options with its hangars. You assault cruiser has far more engineering options to survive, so perhaps you need to tweak your science choices to compensate (snares, tricks, etc.). The assault cruiser also has more engineering console slots, allowing for a significantly better defensive/resist set than the science slots of the Kar'Fi.
Don't get me wrong, I like both ships and fly the Kar'Fi, but the folks who are suggesting you may want to look into your tactics aren't jerks just because they are saying something it seems you do not want to hear. I am confident many folks will help if possible/you're receptive to it.
