As the title states, my character (which is 3 weeks old) is unable to log in to the game now. He was beaming down to the Academy from the orbiting station, and the game crashed. Subsequent attempts now to get back into him (either in a safe non-mission area or normal) all fail, kicking the software to the desktop with an error report asking for details.

I just verified the problem isn't my PC. Cold boot along with testing 1 OpenGL and 2 DX games (all within the last year) verify it is working fine. I believe there to be a problem with my account, and/or the server(s) handling it. Since I cannot log in to create a ticket there, I need to know where to go to create one. I am a gold member, and would hope I don't have to jump through many hoops to get assistance and my account fixed.

Coupled with the insane downtime lately, the plot-mission-breaking bugs, and now this.. I'm about at the end of my rope.

Edit: Forcing a check of files in the launcher, and requesting the game start in Safe Mode, did nothing to improve my situation. Can see character selection, but the instant I attempt to login my one char, CTD.

Edit #2: Found where to submit a ticket, though I must say - over the last ten days my ability to login, stay logged in, and play bug-free has been severely impacted. As a paying Gold member, I expect a bit more than this. Servers need to stay up, accounts need not to get corrupted, and game-breaking mission bugs need to be handled a bit more expeditiously.

# 2 Follow-up with root cause
02-24-2012, 03:20 PM
Since the ticket I filed is languishing in some queue that may (or may not) be addressed in the next 24 hours, I resigned myself to finding out the root cause. Turns out the patcher mangled the CRC information on a resource file inside one of the .hogg files, for the bushes at the Academy. The info was located in the hog_errors text file.

As I don't know which .hogg file that resource is in, I have to uninstall the game completely, reinstall, and hope the patcher behaves itself this time without corrupting data, and without taking two hours to patch. Post-download patches and this morning's patch coupled together will probably eat up most of my game time today. -1 for the patcher today.

Just add this to the long list of constantly down servers (Star Trek Offline?), mission bugs, etc.
