thats not true, information can be on separate "storage server" with raid array etc etc, no need to sync or anything. it cost extra money, but all they need is desire to make it so, they get enough money from us.
OK, so i was close in saying that they could simply mirror the stuff from the live server to the backup. My idea probably has more overhead involved (and more headaches for the tech guys)
i may not be a network engineer but i am very computer savvy so i don't think it would be that hard to do it. all you'd need is enought bandwidth, or just connect them to the live servers, and have them continually mirror the live ones. in the even the live ones go down the backups take over.
