Another thing of note:

We just realized that this patch that's coming through is a pre-patch for this up coming weekend patch as it's supposed to be over 500 megs in size. This is just an FYI post.

I edit my post because it don't work in the end.

EDIT : I was wrong... Downloaded 4GB more but still have the same error.
120301 19:05:59 16 [1]: transfer failed, trying again for bin/MaterialDepsOLSlow.bin (retry 0, compressed)
Repeating again and again...
In ERROR.log i have :
120301 19:07:27 361 [1]: Checksum verification failed after download

If the same file checksum failed since 5 days whatever I do, I don't think I can do anything.

I've tested all the tips I found in forum and Help Support... Excuding STO folder from Anti-Virus program, check connection with traceroute, redownload from steam a second time, deleating Live folder to force the Launcher to redownload, disabling "on-demand patching" in Launcher options.

I will try to redownload all the game a last time with "on-demand patching" disabled but if someone has another idea

Kill your firewall, just to test. Ensure it's disabled then try the patch/login once more. Let us know how it goes.

I forgot this one but unfortunatly it didn't change the problem...

I found this in the forum :
Quote:
How to verify your client data files
We've seen all sorts of file corruption when downloading the STO client from other sources. If you have problems installing or running STO, you might have a corrupted installer file or client data files (*.hogg files found in the "piggs" folder... Cryptic used this naming convention with CO as well). Click on options at the top of the launcher and choose "force verify". When you close the options the launcher should verify all files. If it doesn't, close the launcher and restart it. I've removed the checksums here for the client files since we now have official customer support from Cryptic. If you continue to have problems with getting corrupted data files (ie: bad installer disk or corrupted download), please contact Cryptic.
So disable on-demand patching seems to be the support solution but it don't work...

Damn... Okay, well... It's entirely possible that the patch corrupted your install and it might not work until the rest of the patch is released this weekend. If that's the case, there's two things you can do:

1. Wait till this weekend and hope that after the rest of the patch is released, the game will then work

or

2. Uninstall/reinstall and ensure everything is turned off when you do patch, such as AV and firewalls. Then test and see if it worked.

Sounds like your best option at this point. I'm so sorry it's come to this, I was really hoping we could find a solution for you that didn't include this. I really hope this works.

Sorry I also forgot to mention that when I disabled the on-demand patching, I also did a force verify as well .... as a result all was well

So here's the repport.

Redownloaded the all game from start without firewall, without "on demand patching", with Antivirus off.

Stil have the same checksum error.
120302 13:27:34 858 [1]: transfer failed, trying again for bin/MaterialDepsOLSlow.bin (retry 387, compressed)
120302 13:27:34 857 [1]: Checksum verification failed after download

In updater commande console it says :
Details: filename bin/MaterialDepsOLSlow.bin compressed 1 http 0 expected 170967381 actual 3286754677 len 891308 file_time 1330043821 ver 0 rev 0
Checksum verification failed after download

Already 30+GB downloaded since the beginning.
I think i will stop there.

Thank you Opaserv for your time and help.
