I cannot agree that engi in sci, specially in intrepid is a fail build. Of course, in a puging sense. SNB might be ultimate power, but its far from iwin.

stop using jam sensors.
Sorry, calling this bullcrap.

one Jam sensors I is enough.

If I see a BoP loading his bum full of buffs, 1 Jam sensor without applying DPS on him will either force him to wait or use Sci Team, forcing him/her to a CD on TacTeam. A chance for me to bust a hole in shield arc.
If BoP waits the time, less facemelt DPS for me to worry about due to initial buffs dying out.

Each to their own.
If it p!sses the opposing force off, it's doing its job.

Tip I always follow in PvP instances:
The opposing team always talk crap.

Voice Chat:
- Vivox ads may suck, but if you're standing against a Premade, you better take command and open that mouth.
- Typing takes too long.

It's easier and faster to use a Tac Team or Evasive instead of targeting the BoP and jamming it. Jam Sensors is a skill for PvE Heroes because it has no benefit for the team (unlike Tractor Beam, Hazard Emitters etc.). Firing back may also cancel it's effect making it quite useless.

Thank you.

Jam is the worst skill in the game. No joke. -every- other sci skill is more effective. Even the hilariously bad Tachyon Beam 1 on a low aux ship. There is nothing Jam does for you that another skill doesn't.

Jam, doesn't make me mad. It makes me laugh. And then I melt your friends. Anyone using Jam is obviously incapable of being a threat, and those that -can- do any form of DPS using Jam have a glass jaw and will be smote to the floor by either my team mates, my CPB shot, or by me once I come back around.

"But I'm not taking damage from you!" you say? Good job. Now I just killed 4 of your friends. Or, I still took less damage than you while being shot by four of your friends, cause I wasn't stupid, and packed a Polarize Hull, or hell Transfer Shield Strength2 auxed up.

Jam sensors... the skill to prevent one death at the cost of 4 others. That's not what we call a winning ratio people.

So the point is to die to a single aggressor and just sit there.
Uh. No. With the ton of CCs, there are ways to counter you on killing me AND the troop - at least for the time while all the ticking facemelt buffs are up.

edit: also, any pro BoP can outDPS HazEmitters. Now if this is 5v5 or a 1v5, there's some hillarious troll logic going on right now.

Whatever. And if I get shot down, no problem. 4 Friends will kill you.

I understand your points fully, but I somewhat figured there is no logic really behind the given situation because everybody seems to assume the other four guys are worthless - likewise, as if I am going to let the jammed aggressor go for something else.

So putting wild assumptions of winning says enough. That other agree that jam sensors is crap is fine, I'm just saying there are ways to use it.

Who you shoot at is entirely your choice, but I might as well could toss in trac beam repulsor, keep you off my "four other friends" too - your "initial dps buffs" waver so it is easier to tank, order them to nuke you while tanking whatsoever - oh wow, a holodeck-Iwin moment just like that above.

I'm just saying you don't have to see jam sensors as a sole PvE ability. You can still take all other abilities and there should still be space for something else.

Anyhow, yes, SNB, have it too. Can use it before or after.

Now Jam sensors is bullcrap of course if you are DPSing on the same jammed target. Duh.

I am only stating how it can be used.

I don't need to go deeper into that, especially with a holodeck situation like that one. Nevertheless, certain sci ships have some 3 seats for BOs have enough space for just about anything. TSS is already onboard. Likewise, there are tons of support skills to toss on friends.

Keep the feet to the ground.

On the other hand,
I would put Grav Well on a lower priority. As somebody said, it is a snare with some dmg - but anybody can get out of it too easy. Now if you have Grav Well III and appearantly skilled players like the posters above, they will get out of it easily and it is pretty much a wasted Commander ability.
Grav Well is highly situational now.

And the tooltip is showing wrong numbers of "good old days".

PvP is "Pay2Win" and / or "Grind2Win"...

I wanted to join pvp but then i noticed that there are pvper who got the really expensive cpoint stuff.. and / or items that are not available anymore...

To get teh expensive ships.. i have 3 options.. 1. wait for veteran reward.... 2. grind may *** off at dilithium farming... or 3. buy alot of cpoints...

well 1. its long to wait... 2. im not grinding type.. it bores me... and 3. i bought cryptic point .. but for cool thingslike outfits , costme slots and.. SKILL RESET.. because its very newby unfriendly at teh skillin part... as newbie if u **** up your skills you are lost.. so u need to buy points ( or grind )...

Okay evenif i would GRIND my *** off and buy more CASH...

there is stil items that are not available anymore...OR they are available at boxes..

boxes.. my friend opened various amount of goldboxes and only got crap like shield packs. (( maco is better )) or dilithium hortas wich do NOT even produce dilithium.....

he spend like 30 dollars and stll got nothing useful...

so i really ask myself. "for what i should join PvP when i know from start that there are some OP players due to P2W , GRIND or items that are not available anymore... ?"

So far, at least, there are no overwhelming advantages that you simply must have from any of these sources. Refer to another thread in this forum for tips on building out an escort with readily available gear.

Also, remember that a coordinated team is worth a lot more than gear.

The gap created by P2W is sort of minimal, and really only tips the scales between players/teams of similar skill levels. Teamwork and coordination in PvP are usually enough to overcome any problems you might encounter.

Consoles and devices are only part of PVP. Another part is weapons, shields, deflector dishes, and engines.

If you don't want to grind to get the STF gear, that's certainly your prerogative. However, if someone is willing to work for their gear, why shouldn't they be rewarded for their efforts?

Also, the mk XII [borg] weapons aren't necessarily the best weapon to for PvP use. Their proc is designed specifically for STF. If you want to use play PvP, you should be looking for different weapons with procs that are more useful (like crtd, crth, or acc).
