is there a way, i dont use it willingly and it just bugs me when it tap left twice to line myself up and i do a roll
its useless in combat as far as i can see and it just makes me panic and think im going to roll off things. (into plasma for example)

totally removing autoroll would be stupid.. since it helps someone to quick hide behind an edge.

Design compromise - auto roll needs to be quick enough to use when you see a grenade flying your way. Human reactions are about 100ms and double tapping the movement key triggers the roll animation.

The problem comes when your habit is to multiple-tap the movement key several times to position your character and that will trigger the roll every time.

Good news is this is not a true FPS and a steady hand on the movement controls works best.

I have rolled many times not meaning to on infected elite boss and not once have gone in. I think the game prevents you from rolling off edges with it.

Yep I would love to have rolled down steep hills and cliffs just for the fun of it (its a holodeck anyway, with the safety on). But damn, I can't roll off edges or even do a continuous roll downhill.

I want to make a Sumo wrestler char and roll him downhill onto the poor bunch of Klingons at the bottom of said hill! Steamroller attack!
