# 1 Worth switching to klingon
01-22-2012, 10:53 AM
My main is a fed VA Tac / escort. When I quit back in May, I also had a BG Klingon Tac. With all the chances since F2P went live, is there enough on the klingon side to make to worth rolling a klingon, or should I stay Fed?

It depends what faction you like, I like the KDF because of their compact area of space, the Feds area is all over the place but they have more content.

As I said, I have a Fed VA, and that side is getting a bit boring, other then getting all the accolades. The Klingon side, I really enjoyed the Pi Canos "supply runs". LOL

TY for the responses. I already created my Alien Tac, and will be flying the raptor. I already know what I want for my BOFF space skills, now i need to work on my away teams (ive checked the forums, STOKED podcasts, etc. before anyone asks),

I know this is probably in the wring thread, but:

1) AP or disruptor and game (both have useful affects)

2) Does anyone still use Driver Coil skill at end game (i plan on no more then six points there)

End game the kdf and Feds have the same amount of stuff to do.
I play and have always played kdf because I hate blowing things up over and over again as a fed. Not very star trek. I can play a kdf and pretend that the federation is still like the tv show.
That is very important to me.

I started a Klingon character a couple of days ago and I'm really enjoying it, just started the Devidian Series and will be interesting to see the Klingon take on it.

I found the Fed game play to be too boring. Maybe it's because every Trek TV show and movie is about the Federation and Starfleet captains. There's something that's more fun and exciting about the KDF gameplay.

It's a good day to play STO as a Klingon (or one of the KDF allies).

Or, as my fellow Klingons say, "Today is a good day to die!"

Be prepared to be disappointed since the Klingon play is exactly the same as the Feds. Why we would take the time help Dr. McCoy with his medical problem or get Cassidy a nerve tonic is beyond me. Although I do like the part where you can knock out the ensign manning the console you need the part from rather than going through the dialog with her, it's the only part that has a Klingon feel to it. Also Klingons should be able to intimidate Balan on Ganalda, a disruptor pistol shoved into his nose would convince him to give up the needed information i think.

Do not worry the monotony of KDF play will catch up with you very shortly.
Until the KDF is given full factional PvE storyline play it will always have the thrill of being new up until that thrill wears off, which doesn't take that long at all.
Our fan hopes was that with the purchase of Cryptic by PWE, new resources and peoples would come forth to build us up and give us a meaningful and immersive level of play.
It has yet to happen and we still rest on the desires of the Devs to give us a better gameplay.
I do not deny thier desire is strong, but thier follow through is severly lacking still after 2 years.
