I kinda agree...Capt Logan has done more than a sufficent number of beautiful designs for the Empire.
Now, if he could just spur the (obviously very small) dept (do they even have a cubicle?) where they design new Klingon missions to do as well as he...
Having all these shiney toys is still boring when you're doing the same mission for the 500th time.

Only the 500 the time? Your not hard core 'nuff...!

it would be nice to see some new ship costumes for the KDF...it wouldn't be any more actuall ship variety but at least it would feel like it.

And according to CaptainGeko we're actually ahead of the game.

"Other ships going forward, we’ve talked about other weird things to do but I don’t want to get into those to much, as far as straight up ships; I don’t have anything else planned for the Klingons, they actually have a lot on their side, I think they’re a little ahead of the game."

I presume this means after the BortaS verions, there'll be no new KDF ships for 2012 whatsoever so the Federation has time to "catch up".

But are we really ahead?
I mean... I just count the t5 ships as meaningfull, since those are the ones we play for years not for hours. Lower tier ships have little point in the long term game beside beeing a console source. So its not the number of designs that count, its the number of ships that can be put to some use.

And there we have:

Cruisers
1. Negh'va
2. Vor'Cha
3. That Flightdeck Cruiser (VA)
Carriers:
4. Vo'quf
5. That... other thing.. (VA)
"Escorts"
6. Raptor
7. Siege Destroyer (VA)
Sci
8. Fleet support-thing (VA)
BoPs
9. Hegh'ta
10. B'rel (VA)

Makes 10 vessels, half of them VA.

And the Federation?
Cruisers:
1. Original ugly whale
2. Souvereign
3. Galaxy R (VA)
4. Galaxy X (VA)
5. Excelsior (VA?)
Escorts
6. Fleet escort
7. Prometheus
8. MVA Prometheus (VA)
9. Defaint
Sci Ships
10. Luna
11. The fliying electric Iron
12. D'Kyr (VA?)
13. Intrepit (VA)
14. Nebula (VA?)

Makes 14, again half of them for VAs (or at least from C-Store)

Its not the GIANT gap it was once, but unless I missed a number of KDF ships the Federation is still ahead of us.

Yeah, I'm not saying a certain person doesn't give a crap about the KDF, but with that in mind, saying the KDF are ahead of the curve in ships is neither true, nor objective. But apparently, Feds need mroe escorts too.

I'd say we've moved beyond the realm of pure numbers by now and are now at the point where the fact we have "something" is enough justification for them to say this.
And of course the fact the Feds will get the carrier (note they're no longer talking about a flight-deck cruiser and it's no longer unlikely) they don't yet have we're ahead as they don't have it yet etc blablabla...

The Caitian Carrier is still the most retarded least "Trek" idea I've ever, ever heard. I am praying that it's just a joke, and that they've got no intention of sullying the game with something so fundamentally dumb. I'd rather they just make the Jupiter Dreadnaught a core of engineers drone ship or something. At least that'd make partial sense, and still feel like Star Trek.

And you still have hope after you've seen the lockboxes?

Well that's unadulterated greed, but at least there's a glimmer of logic there.
