I don't know, I still use my Bortas. I love it. Set it up as a heal boat, 8 beams... highest damage, highest healing, almost every match.
And I like mine, but you have to admit there are darned few now in play now that the "new smell" has worn off after a few weeks.
I just don't think the 5th tac slot is not the defining OP design flaw among these 6 flagship variants and the players are over reacting again.
Regardless they will be the most powerful cruiser type in the game by virtue of one extra console slot and universal boff stations. Going from 4 to 5 tac slots would grant me a total 6% DPS boost, 4 to 5 engineering slots about a 9% EHP boost, and I'm not touching sensor analysis with a ten foot pole (if that makes it live then I know for a fact they either don't care about balance or have no clue about it). The only sacrifice they make is a pathetic turn rate which makes them unfun for most, but has little to no effect on their power as turn rate is relative anyway.
The only question then becomes is a slightly overpowered cruiser strong than the other ship types, and just how much overpoweredness (is that word?) is acceptable within STO. But without a doubt there is no longer any reason to fly any cruiser other than the flagships if you can live with a bad turn rate.
If it (=Aquarius Escort) takes heavy damage, it will be disabled, and you will need to disengage the ability and re-dock with the Bird of Prey to get it functional again.
Damn Klingons always trying to board our ships.
Anyway the consoles on there own don't sound that bad. The recharge of the Work Bees is a bit low (48 seconds) and the recharge reduction of the set bonus sounds a bit too good... especially if there is no GCD for the consoles.
