I love how the trend is called Free to Play when really it's not. It's just another way of saying welcome to Microtransactions. Seeing as how I just dinged the CC for 25 bucks right before server crashed and have a Client I payed 75 dollars for it's defianntly not free. Also before you say its F2P for new players your wrong. Nothing is free and that is the only thing you need to know. Your time and energy in making this game into a flourishing community is your payment. ISP's are not free. Computer hardware and electricity is not free. Limitations are not free either. So while you can download and enjoy a very decent amount of the game without purchasing anything or using a credit card it's still not free. If you want to remain under the illusion that it's free fine but even for people that pay nothing they contribute by word of mouth and to the economy. They provide people for other people to talk to. It's called social marketing in case you didn't know. The F2P is just to get your attention.
The server is powered by a pack of tribbles. The Starfleet officers decided to take a break and left the Klingons in charge of the servers. The Klingons subsequently pounded them into Tribble Pizza. STO is down until a new pack of tribbles are trained to run the treadmill and the Klingon technicians are replaced.
