Are you sure you didn't get the double slot? You should really check them just in case.
I created a fed character, went back to character selection and noticed that the buttons for creating new character are unavilable because i need to buy more slots.
I believe at one point in the past there was a bug where some people had more slots than they should for one reason or another. Many threads were posted about it in all kinds of permutations like 'I deleted my toon but still have no slots free', that kind of thing. What Cryptic did was allow those folks to keep the character while it was there but would not allow the slot to stay once it was freed up. The main cause of this was people using a Foundry slot to make main characters in the game.
In your cases I am guessing something like this has happened so you have more slots than you are supposed to, and so the game is just balancing the numbers with your purchase. As a result you get two slots minus the one already 'used'. Probably happened if you were Gold gone Silver.
First, Dirlettia, i want to thank you for your contribution to my concern. I do in fact had a Gold account once and owned 3 characters before buying the 2 (1) slots. I wonder if i get my 5th. slot if i upgrade to gold again, but i certainly won't do that.
Hopefully i get the correct number of slots if i spend 500 CP next time on new character slots.
Still, i do share the same opinion with the gentlemen above me. 2 means 2, after all this is one less reason to subscribe for a gold account if you can't even fully use the CStore.
It has been covered before and I have fallen into this too. I have given them two weeks so far to sort it out. I will give them until the end of this week before I go to my bank and issue a charge back order to recover the money I spent on cpoints to buy the two slots. It seems only this may get something done about it.
