Easter is actually based on Pagan spring celebrations. It's there in the symbols of the Bunny and the Eggs.

I used to enjoy WoW's Easter event, looking for eggs and getting rewards from it like a rabbit pet that breeds with other peoples' rabbit pets.

They can do that in STO. Doesn't have to be religious at all. Hide eggs in various maps, maybe even make some unique instances for solo or team play where you if you find a certain amount of eggs in a certain time you get a prize.

Those sorts of events are fun.

Just being honest. I would actively be offended by the game doing any event that ties to a religious holiday. Basically if there were a religious holiday event for a Christian holiday like Easter, I would demand that there be events put in place for Pagan Holidays like Imbolic (Pagan), Ramanavami (Buddhist), heck for the Installation of Scriptures as Gukru Granth (a Sikh holiday). Avoiding pandering to any one religion is extremely important, if not necessary unless you have made an MMO called Christian Trek Online.

Simply , it is far better for STO to do a "winter" event instead of a specific Christmas event, or even a "spring" or "1st Contact" event , instead of specifically an easter one. And if as some poster above suggested , they called it an Easter Event and simply had us hunt eggs and chocolate from the Giant Easter Tribble, I guarentee that some hardcore Christian folk would take umbrage and protest that they were misrepresenting the Holiday which is about so much more ... yadda yadda yadda.

Best, I think to stick with events that don't tie to any particular religion or special interest group.

But, that's just my 2 EC. And I'm an atheist so who cares what I say ?

Easter goes way further back than christianity.
Many religions "borrow" stories, rites, and days of celebration from one another.
