Shall we list the QA failures in the last 3-3.5 months? I'll start with the ones I can remember...

MACO shields
Gravity Well
Hax Beams
Various ineffective skill tree passives
VTR - the broken part, not the OP part :p
Warp Plasma - borked the same way as VTR
FAW
Beams in General
Torpedo Consoles

Really, if you forward this next part to the QA department you might find their performance improves significantly.

1 Equip new item/boff ability or spec into the skill
2 Use another player to get a baseline on the new skill/item/ability, no modifiers - use a combat log parser to record the results
3 Time to add modifiers consoles, deflectors, doffs... anything that affects the test subject. Test each individually. Record the results.
4 Verify that each modifier is doing only what it is supposed to do, and no more or less.
5 Repeat step 3, but begin to stack the modifiers. Run a test as each modifier is added and record the results at each step.
6 Verify that each modifier only adds or subtracts the amount it did when used alone in each circumstance. If anomalies occur, use the process of elimination to determine which combination of modifiers is causing the issue.
7. This is the part players can't do. Forward any anomalous results immediately to design and development for bug-fixing. Players get bug reports, and our faith in those is lackluster, to be generous.

Cryptic, my internal balance is being thrown off by a conflict created by one of my favorite things in the world constantly being broken, presumably while being fixed. Seriously. I can live with some of them. Hybrid beams weren't horrible when they were "broken" I can live with broken skills, like power insulators. Didn't have that one before, don't really need it now. This one, though, it's one of those ones that just kills PvP gameplay for me. What is the point of being a shield stripping sci, when one hit from my teammate undoes it all?

Yes, there are ways around it. Target shields, a lot, and you'll get 'em eventually... whatever. Let me know when it is fixed guys. Won't be doing much other than logging in to collect/assign doff missions until then.
Unfortunately the same is true for me as well. I'll pop on daily to get my doffs working but there's no point qing for pvp right now with this broken shield out there.

Anyway, hopefully it will be fixed in the next couple days.

there is just a HUGE difference between...a little OP and kind of annoying....such as VTR or the torpedo console dibacle.....

and just downright f'ing broken *** shields.

300 million healing in an escort. you feel good now bro.....all invincible like? oh, and you like talking smack about it too huh?

oh dont worry, i got your name scribbled on a piece of paper...right here.

word of advice to those who continue to run this in the q's. don't q up after they are fixed. much of the opvp crowd will be headhunting you.

hope your 15 minutes were nice. now go learn how to play.

/off soapbox.

I've had that same bipolar attitude towards the game for a while, but it has really accelerated the past couple months with the rapid release of new bugs, which you have so meticulously listed above. I even unsubscribed and resubscribed in a matter of weeks. I guess it's time to unsubscribe again. Maybe this time I'll stop playing.

That's what I've just been mostly doing the past couple months anyway. I think it's time to just stop playing so I can get other stuff done.

Agreed. It feels like I've said this millions of times already, but what's the point of having a test server if they don't test anything?

the problem is Cryptic as added too many cutesy things in the game for immersive effects and with that too many variables to accurately test. I mean when it was variable A,B,C it its easy but when you have variables A-Z plus 1-99 it would take a lot of time to test each individual combo. Then throw in bad coding on top of unstable coding you are asking for nothing but bugs and broken things. At least this is the delusional story I tell myself.

Yeah for Mass Effect 3.

dont forget just changing all the pay to win consoles form being ship type specific to anyone can use them.

one of the bigger mistakes for any semblance of balance that could have been done.

Suppose they are digging their own grave, then. It's only a matter of time before the servers just implode... or spontaneously become intelligent and take over the world.

you mean all these server down times might be it imploding or maybe realizing that the smartest thing to do is no longer support cryptics use of the star trek ip?
