Meh, personally, I don't think they're even worth 2000 all together. Although the new ent-f's are a beauty, they turn too slowly for my taste. If people want to spend $50 bucks on them, let them do it. Just don't expect any pity from me when I crush your federation cadillac in pvp. No Q_Q for u!
I think 2000 CP for the Odyssey Tactical Cruiser which comes only with a combat pet console is pretty hefty, considering what the D'Kyr cost and how it came with its Support Craft being made playable. If the Odyssey went for 1600 CP (3200 CP) it might seem less galling... but yeah.
Though we do get a new spiffy bridge with it too. Hmm. >_>
Anyhow, my big disappointment there was that despite the Odyssey being pretty awesome, I wouldn't get to be able to switch to playing its very cool-looking Aquarius escort from time to time. Hence I made a thread requesting that feature. Join in if you want to support making the Aquarius (and the Hoh'Sus, to a degree) playable in STO!
Not just complaining about this ship, but all the ships are over priced. Should never exceed $10, even then that is a little high I think. But I would be willing to pay that. $15 for all three.
As I've said before, the prices are common in the industry. For example, special Steeds in LotRO run around 1,995 TPs, which is right around $20.00. And I can guarantee you get more use out of a T5 Ship in STO then you do a special Steed in LotRO.
Individual wants doesn't really have any monetary value. You think $50.00 is too high. That's your standard. Others won't give it a second's thought.
As I said above, I'll get mine for free just by dumping some of the 21-26k Dilithium I earn every single day. When you're earning around 100 CP a day just playing spending 4,000 doesn't seem like that big of a deal.
26K Dilithium is nothing right now but at least at 100 CP a day you can get them in a bit over a month.
