Keep in mind that Sensor Analysis actually takes a full minute in order for it to have full effect. In most cases by the time that full effect has started the ship you are firing upon should already be mostly dead or completely dead and thus the effect of Sensor Analysis is kind of nerfed by that simple fact alone. I fail to see what all the complaints about an effect that actually takes a full minute to take place in a real time combat situation really have to do with the combat when there are far more effective methods of dealing more consistent damage over time.
Yes I will admit that in a sustained battle (usually against another Odyssey or Bortasqu type vessel) that the Science type vessel on both sides will definitely have the upper hand, but that doesn't change the fact that the ability still takes a full minute to activate before really being of any use. It may still be more effective in shorter length battles to be using the Tactical Ship for the purpose of running these combats.
The new Oddy is fine, its not OP and I think Cryptic would have a lot of steaming mad customers who dropped a lot of money if they messed with it or changed things.
It ain't broke, there is no need to fix these variations. It's one of the few times Cryptic actually got it right. Now the Feds have a decent ship that can compare to some of the higher end Klingon ships. Damage wise, the Bortasqu is still more powerful than the Oddy and it has an edge over it. Especially with it's new cannon and Subspace Snare..
okay a couple of problems with your statements. The Worker Bee's heal you for 75 hit points per second over 10 seconds PER BEE. And the Console Deploys 4 bee's. That is a total of 3,000 Hit Points recovered in ten seconds. You do not get 30 bee's. Nor do you get 30 heals per-se. However you do get 40 heals for 75 points each distributed over 10 seconds.
After respeccing for my Sci Oddy, I managed to get the Worker Bees to heal ~400 hit points each second. From all four bees, that's ~16,000 hit points over 10 seconds!
Those three varients are a sad attempt to make the Odyssey more interesting and bring more money to C-store. Those abilities are not original, at all. It wants to be like a Galaxy with sauser separation, and one fighting pet. Work bees? Really? They are just fodder for "beam fire at will." What problem do they have with bringing in Fed fighters? At least fighters will serve as a distraction from the mothership because they have shields and they shoot back. If they want to give the Odyssey fighting pets then what about us players who payed for shuttle pets and the new runabout that absolutely do nothing for us but fall way behind the ship. They should make them fight for us. After all we did pay for them.
In STFs, the work bees are the better consoles as the borg are chewing up the escort and saucer more often than not.
Ok, so I already intend to buy the set of Oddys. So, my questions are as follows how powerful is the stacking effect of the set, and second, can you piggyback the pets, ie... Saucer Sep and as soon as it is dead, launch the escort? Or does it completely disable it, or put it on the same cool down?????. Separate, launch bees, launch escort on saucer death = fed carrier... Now, which Oddy build to equip on? Since the consoles are universal, does it matter?
For 4k... they could have simply made one ship, add all three consoles, and made all the stations universal. THATS worth 4000 C-Points. These variants just shows they weren't that lazy, but just lazy enough.
Your basically paying for the consoles so why not just offer those as a bundle at the C-Store? I guess they don't want to make it too obvious.
