Whats worse is even with 25k shields at 75% resistance, 60k hull at around 60% reistance I still get 1 shotted from the Borg !!!

How about we, instead of theory crafting worst case scenerios.. actually PROVE it with Video and Picture evidence that this situation is a bad thing? Other wise it looks great on paper, but doesn't mean jack squat with out trial and error proving.

sounds fine to me, I mean why make damage consoles stack but not shields. It's as if they were purposefully pushing everyone towards tac/escorts.

"oh noes shields stack! My 4 stacked damage consoles in my escort can no longer 3 shot cruisers 10 times my size. It's broken cryptek, fix it!"

Excellent point. Right now a cruiser with no defenses running with a captain that fails to activate one will make a very satisfying "pop" noise in about three seconds. But if they are on the ball as it stands they are very survivable ships. Its already very close to or at the point where the team with the most debuffs wins. Good or bad I can't say. I don't think that stacking these will break PVP anymore than it is, but we shall see.

Husanak, you do make some good points, I'll give you that.

I wouldn't mind a larger spread of shield values. I think it's a bit too easy for escorts to tank shields, especially ENG/Escorts. I do this myself, and my record is taking out 5 guys in Ker'rat by myself. (And there are much better escort pilots than I am.) So, if there was a well-thought out way to give cruisers a higher relative shield value vs escorts than they have now, I'd generally okay with that. But I think there should be more of a trade-off.

As it is now, non-sci Captains are really only giving up Emitter consoles, or P2W toys. Myself, as an example, I don't use any toy consoles, so I'm happy to give up my Emitter console to have cruiser-level shields in my Raptor. (Or great shields in my Vorcha.)

I like your (was it yours?) idea of forcing them to stack ONLY if they were separated into each console category, that way you'd have to give up armor and/or DPS to get better shields.
