Maybe, :p but no one ever said it was commissioned in the 29th Century, could of been a retrofit of a 25th Century model

The relativity could be the 29th Centurys version of our Constitution, a 23rd Century ship cruising in the 25th.

Nothing stopping the first Relativity varients being commissioned in the 25th Century.

Then on turn, one could argue that the design alone is so alien compared to current starfleet tech, and the fact that it has never been stated that the ship was comissioned before the 29'th century, that it seems highly unlikely that the relativity is a 25'th century ship.

Mmmm I disagree, IMO the design seems to be a stepup from the Defiant variant. Could be said that its a larger Defiant class designed to be Long Range Science Vessel.

Eh, maybe it was in fact holo-disguised to look like a more era-appropriate ship instead of appearing as something wildly advanced? For all we know it was really a little blue box. Or based on an earlier design, like the Excalibur is a 25th-century take on the 23rd-century Constitution?

Not endorsing, but anything is possible.

Yep excatly.

Theres we could if we wished make the assumition that the Relativity was a 29th Design since it came from the 29th Century. But we could spin that and say its a retrofit or w/e of a earlier model.

The defiant paved the way for the "first?" nacelle-less Fed starships. Relativity also fits this cat. Between The defiant and the relativity we can see that from the 25th Century onwards Starfleet become to commission more and more designs without nacelles.

Which is a good thing, because theres only so many times you can keep making the same style saucer and nacelle varient ships. Before they get old and bland *cough odyessy*

So more nacelle-less fed ships please starting with the Relativity (minus time travel)

All I'm saying is that if they put the Relativity in one of those grab boxes, I'll... I'll... buy about a million of them to get one! :p

Except the Enterprise-J have nacelles, also all future ships from Battle of Procyon V have nacelles (no wonder as they reused models, including the Dauntless that should not be there).

Sorry error on my part, I mean more designs with inbuilt nacelles, lacking pylons.
