I just came to play STO but it's not loading?

I click the icon on my desktop, the launcher opens (white background) then in this order I get these pops up.

If I click 'yes' the launcher opens, looks normal, but I can't select CRYPTIC as my account type so I can't login.

If I click 'no' the launcher still opens but missing a bit of the background. I still can't select CRYPTIC as my account type so I still can't login.

Things I've tried so far.
Reset computer
Reset router
Unistalled and reinstalled
Reinstalled JAVA
Restored computer back 3 days (was working yesterday)
Uninstalled, restarted computer then reinstalled then restarted before opening

Still get the exact same problem no matter what I do....any one any idea what I can do to fix this??

If you haven't tried it already you might want to open up your internet browser and delete all cookies and temporary internet files. Don't know if that will help, but it's worth a shot.

Perhaps even run a registry cleaning program afterwards. I prefer CCleaner myself. It's easy to find if you google it.

Good luck

Edit: It just occured to me that you may also want to check your anti-virus software and make sure it isn't trying to block the launcher, as well as checking your firewall security settings. Either one could junk up the works if something changed their settings without informing you.

you need also to be sure your IE browser is allowing javascripts.

Anti-virus firewall was set to allow STO.

Deleted cookies and temp internet files and I've got success!!!!!

Everything is working perfectly now. Thanks so much painkillerjayne your a star, I'd have never guessed to look at cookies/temp files.

I am also having difficulty with the loader today. I log in and it just sits there. I eventually get "not responding" message from the app.

This means that the STO server and your computer are not communicating properly. My best advice on that one is to double check your anti-virus and firewall to ensure they aren't blocking STO from running.

Good Luck

Edit: Just realized that was around the same time the server "unexpectedly" went down. I wasn't on at the time (was watching Supernatural on Netflix), but that was probably your issue (looks around sheepishly).

Nothin' to see here...move along! (waves hand in front of screen) I am *not* the dork you are looking for!
