# 1 Proposed Defiant Refit Build

Greetings All,

I have not tested this build nor do I have all the equipment that Iíd need to complete it, I was just hoping to get some insight on how a build like this might work.

Forward Weapons:

2 x Mk XII (Borg) Tetryon DHC and 2 x Mk XII (Borg) Photon Torpedo

Aft Weapons:

2 x Mk XII (Borg) Tetryon Turret and Mk XII (Borg) Photon Torpedo

Borg Deflector
Borg Engines
Borg Shield


Devices:
Red Matter Capacitor and Engine Battery

Engineering Consoles:
Rare Mk XI Neutronium Console, Cloaking Console and Borg Console

Science Consoles:
Field Generator Console and Rare Mk XI Shield Emitter

Tactical Consoles:
3 x Mk XII Rare Tetryon Pulse Generator Console and Mk XII Rare Photon Detonation Assembly

Assigned Space Duty Officers
3 x Ten of Ten very rare (Borg) Projectile Weapons Officer (Not sure if I can slot more than 2)
Rare or better Warp Core Engineer
Conn Officer (Tactical Team Variant) (Best Quality I can get)

Bridge Officers

I tested this build on Tribble for a bit last night and I really like the firing rate of my Photon Torpedoís, it looked like I was getting a torpedo off every second or so.

Iím not really feeling the Tetryon DHC and I think Iíll just keep using my Mk XII Antiproton gear.

I also realized that Iíd be able to make use of the Nadeon Detonator Console if I switch over to using Photon Torpedoís.

If I could only find some way to make use of the (Technician Doff) to speed up the cool downs on all my Boff abilities but having to find a use for Auxiliary to Emergency Battery on my Defiant Refit is pretty much pointless.

Tetryon is for use with the Omega set, if you're going to use it in an Escort. Without it, you're better off with AP.

You can only have one of each doff as they are all unique.. So you can not get three Ten of Ten doffs. But, you can have more than one Projectile Weapon Officer doff.. You can have a total of three slotted at one time in fact.

I have Ten of Ten slotted myself. I also have C'Tarrsa for a second purple PWO doff which I received from reaching rank 4 military in the doff system. For the third slot on my ship I have a blue PWO.

I am working on getting a third purple PWO named Gil Tain from completing the doff chain "Ghosts of the Jem'Hadar" or possibly getting Hunter Ikrin from finishing up the Khazon Cluster Colony chain instead.

Uhm, about that ... hopefully you still have some EDC left to save a bit of time?

Also, if you're using two or three purple projectile doffs, you should probably switch to quantum torpedos due to the constant proccing. Zahalu posted a dual-torp AE build earlier, and it was pretty nice in STFs.

Huh.. Well, what do you know. I am thinking that may be a bug and will be fixed eventually as all other doffs seem to be unique.

I have considered quantums and used them in the past with a purple and two blues. They have the fast pew pew of photons when the doffs kick in.. But when they do not and there is that long wait (for me usted to photons) between shots I get dismayed. Also the fact that I try to maximize the amount of time I keep my torps on target makes the higher DPS of photons nice for my play style.

I went back to the drawing board and tweaked the build a bit because I love the rate of fire that Iím getting off the Photon Torpedoís.

I made some equipment changes:

Omega Deflector
Omega Engines
M.A.C.O Shield

I was thinking about going with the two piece Omega and the two piece Borg set but the hull heal proc on the Borg set seems non-existent now so Iím just using the Borg console.

I bought the Bellerophon for the Nadeon Detonator Module; however, Iím kind of regretting it due the fact that the console shares a cool down with my other torpedo skills.

When my procs go off Iím getting 1 Photon shot off per second and itís pretty cool being able to fire off a spread 3 or a High Yield 3 and getting 2-3 more photons off while the volleys are still in flight.

I respeced my build to max out on Tetryon Glider and my Tetryon DHC and turrets draining.

Iím having trouble logging into STO Academy ATM so when I get that straightened out Iíll post a link to my build there.

I picked up 1 rare Mk XII Photon Detonator console and 3 x rare Mk XII Tetryon consoles for a bit under 5 million EC, the very rare xi Tetryon consoles are selling for 20 million + on the exchange now for some reason.

I had thought about going with Quantum over Photon but I realized that if I wanted the best chance to get the most shots possible off the Photons were the best option.

With 3 Purple Projectile Doff you get 3 chances to shave 5 seconds off the firing time on your torpedo.

The problem is that the doffs proc do not stack so the system runs a check 3 separate times one for each doff.

Photon Torpedo have a 6 second cool down so you only need to get the proc on one of your 3 doffs to get that number dropped to 1 second and if you hit the proc again itís just gravy.

Quantum Torpedo have and 8 second cool down so in order to get them to fire at 1 per second youíd need to hit the proc on at least 2 of your 3 doffs each time.

Your odds are much greater to hit 1 out 3 than they are getting 2 out of 3 on you doff procs.

Granted Quantumís hit much harder than Photonís but due to the rate of fire that youíll get on Photonís youíll end up with much more overall damage in the end.

The price on Very Rare Projectile doffs are not that bad right now on the exchange, their selling for just about 3 million each so if you donít have enough EDC to buy more copies of ten of ten EC flows like water.

The THY3 is the big kicker that made the thing work well when I used the build. In the end, though, I prefer DHCx3, DBB, Turretx3 as my general purpose build

I really like the shield cracking I can do now and the photons seem to be flying non-stop.

I tried using Quantoms but the rate of fire was much slower.
