# 1 Bring Xindi back

I was looking at missions and what we could use as another story line. What do you all think of having the Xindi coming back trying another crack at earth or another FED planet. The ships are already out there.
What are you thoughts all.

They're members of the Federation now, though. They're even in the doff system.

im just curious as to why once again the borg and others were ripping the galaxy apart the Xindi didn't bring in an updated version of there "planet killer" probe tech and pull a "we have sphere shaped ships with massive fire power too buddy" and rip them a new one.

i mean could you imagine for a second a full sized Xindi "ball ship" and its escorts geared up to 25th century tech level ripping into a Borg battle group?

or gearing up a carrier with a dozen of the smaller one man "test" probes pulling escort duty....

i mean ONE prototype with what is now 400 year old tech managed to crack a planet in half during a low powered test fire and a tiny version devastated five billion while signing its name on earth.

WHY ARE WE NOT USING THIS TECH TO RIP THE BORG APART???

That was a cheesy storyline to begin with. Why the heck do you want to repeat that? There is no point to beating this dead horse.

Id rather see the Xindi as playable race/races on the Federation side than as an enemy myself

Yeah lets add some new good guys. Maybe an Aquatic cruiser for the people wanting a Fed carrier?

Why? Why repeat a story that has otherwise come to it's end. The Xindi haven't bothered Earth in almost 400 years. It would be a bit random for them to attempt to do so again, especially with their now knowing that Earth poses no threat to them.

The 22nd-century ships are already out there, yes, but in truth, I'd rather not see a bunch of 22nd century designs again. We've already got that with the NX and the D'kyr from a dated century. I'd rather see newer Xindi vessels.

Are you sure? I didn't think the Xindi joined the Federation until the 26th Century.

Because this would be too easy?

I suppose you'd want your crew in diving gear too huh? You're not going to have a crew of humanoids serving on an Aquatic Cruiser.

The best bet, at least for the Aquatics, is to have them as ship support based on the 'aid' you can call when in battle. I forget the specific name of the ability, but the one where you can call in temporary reinforcement?

One was on the Enterprise J, but that doesn't mean they didn't join until then. The various maps that have been produced (not strict canon, granted) have New Xindus in Federation space at some point shortly after the Dominion War, usually shown near the "south" end of the Federation. If it were in the game, it would be 2-3 sector blocks down from Eta Eridani, with the Gorn Hegemony to the west, and if Gamma Orionis were continuous with where it belongs (based on the Cestus system and Mutara Nebula), it'd either be one block down or one to the right.

Two arguments:
A. The Xindi didn't join the Federation for some time, but presumably did reach a peace agreement after their conflict with Earth, likely including some degree of disarmament, particularly regarding superweapons. The information to build it may well be lost, and since it was only built to spec and not developed by the Xindi recreating it would border on impossible.

B. Temporal Investigations may also have the tech or any surviving information tied up. No matter how useful it was and how much the Federation may have needed it in conflicts over the last 30 years, the ablative emitters Janeway brought back in time were kept tightly sealed until around the time they would have been invented anyway.

Also one less satisfying but more in line with Enterprise's writing:
C. Time travel's a tricky ***** and the information may have actually been retroactively removed by temporal cold war agents after the weapon was destroyed and sphere builder influence stopped to erase any tangible traces of temporal interference from the 22nd Century.

No thanks. I found the whole Xindi story arc in ENT to be a cringe moment. I was not surprised when ENT was canned.

I would love to see the Xindi appear in STO; according to STOwiki they're even being considered for an FE series down the line. But I hope they don't revive the "superweapon" storyline; that ended in ENT and it looked pretty final.
