the sad truth is that the other ship classes need to be brought up to the escorts level, not escort being brought down.
First thing would be of course to un-nerf beam array's, give all ships but escorts +5 turn rate across the board and rework the whole shield distribution issue (namely that shield distribution does jack unless its facilitated by tactical team - another issue).
Then scale down restorative powers towards more hot types instead of instants and rework the power system used for ships.
Why do only weapons drain power? Why is weapon damage directly tied to that stat?
ever heard of a mana bar?
How about having energy bars, for engines, aux, shields and weapons that get depleted as you use abilities and recover depending on your power allocation?
The game as a whole needs some reworking, just slapping the escorts (arguably one of the last truly fun ships for many) down to suck is not the way to go here.
Okay, so, ignoring the invective, please explain why escorts have 15-0 scores in every PvP, and no other ships come close. Explain why escorts have damage scores of 500,000+ and other ships are lucky to get to 200,000, most below 100,000.
The numbers don't lie. I'm open to being convinced that I'm wrong, but the answers you have given don't provide any support for your, in my opion incorrect, opions.
Are you denying that there is an imbalance in kill ratios? If you are, then you need to go keep track for a little while.
If you agree that the kill ratios are drastically out of wack, then what is your explanation? Is it your position that drivers are universally better than everyone else and the best players mysteriously always use escorts and no other ships?
Let's see if you can stop with the personal attacks and provide some reasonable explanations.

My explanation for the imbalance is that escorts are at once fastest, most well armed, and have the best effective shield strength. Put differently, at the end of the analysis and considering everything, escorts do the most damage, and are hardest to kill. These facts completely and fully explain the imbalance in numbers we observe, without having to speculate that all good players fly escorts. If you dispute this, lets hear a concrete, numbers-based explanation of why its not true.
