A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
Just a quick question about this item.
I've been hesitant to use it in PvP because of the -400 proton resistance. But I started to wonder, is proton actually the same thing as antiproton damage, or just a pve-only thing?
It is not the same.
However there is one weapon with proton damage.
The Prototype Ghostbuster gun from the Devidian series.
Standard fire is Antiproton I think, and secondary attack is Proton.
If you catch an enemy (or a group) in the Subspace Field a Proton burst is gonna be devastating.
Hmmm...
<<<runs off to test this on Armek.!! Never thought about ghostbustertrapping him.

I'm sure he's talking about the ship device. You must be thinking of the triolic pattern enhancer?

They're both the same, general damage resistance with a huge proton vulnerability.
The point of his post is that there's literally only one source of proton damage in the game, and it's a ground weapon. There's nothing to date that hits that vulnerability in space combat.
if you don't beleive me then type stowiki.org in the address bar and see for yourself that it redirects (since some might beleive I am trying to troll, although I don't know how I would get a gamepedia URL and a server to host it in the firstplace).
I don't think its much of a concern though lol, but try not to use it if you are in a tholian web.
Also aux batteries are the best device in the game when used just before transfer shield strength and hazard emitters. I use aux battery combined with red matter, though subspace field modulator is worthy competition for red matter (in escorts, in other vessals obviously adding the subspace or the reman pets (for fun only)).
