this is not true roach. i had a fleet mate in ts whine about my fleet mates vamp drones. i tryed to list counters and even showed him in a 1v1 solo while he watched. he still whined about it which caused me to curs him out. so ill list the freaking counter here. have more then 1 config on a definat, swap configs in batlle when ur out of red to counter thier crap. and if u see many drones decloak on the carrier at 5-6 km(works for me) cannon scatter volley 3 scatter volley 2. just see him try to get thoes drones out. pwn thoes hes usless in pvp. also ur tanks do have faw. only thing i would change is the hp on tact drones. vamp drones are fine.

A carrier cannot launch that many ships. It can only launch 2 types of pets (2 hangars max, one pet type per hangar) and it is limited in the amounts of pets it can launch. Aka 12 ToDujs or drones if both hangars use that pet type or four birds of prey if both hangars are BoP.

From your post it seems that:

5 tachyon
5 siphon ---- stop right there. Thats one carrier max.

5 bop --- err no the max bop per carrier is 4.
2 vorcha - carrier cannot launch this ship type.
5 fighters - which type?

Probably what you stumbled into was 2 carriers and one of those carriers was a science captain.

Carrier 1 tells his pets (probably the tachyon and fighters) to escort carrier #2 and either got out of range or you didnt notice him.
Carrier 2 used science ability to summon holographic ships. That summons 3 Bird of Prey and 2 Vorcha
Carrier 2 uses his own pets: 2 birds of prey and siphon drones.

or.. carrier 1 and 2 both used 2 BoPs and one carrier used tachyon fighters the other siphon drones and one of the carriers deployed the Scorpion fighters (which you can use too in any ship FYI) and then one of the carriers did science fleet.

OR.. it was 1 carrier and one other ship. Both were sci captains. Both used holo-ship ability. Carrier used siphon and tachyon (a good indication of a drain build carrier) and either the other sci capt ship or the carrier used scorpion fighters. That also adds up to the # of ships and types you ran into.

Hmm. I never had much problems with Klink side. Flying healer cruiser I'm pretty though and if Klinks can cooperate to kill me - good for them. But carriers always rubbed me the wrong way. As long as they were launching fighters/BoPs it was more or less ok. But then the drone fest started and currently it looks so that one carrier can effectively shut down my Odyssey with Acetons and Tachyon drones.

High Aux/High Shield Healer(+Tank) Odie is too slow to get from the range of all those drones. Engine battery and evasives is better but it is still hard to get our of range, especially if drones are in front of you - Odie don't turn too well. Killing them does not work - even with 100 to weapons and nadion inversion it lacks the bang to clear those things. And Regenerative Mk XII [Reg] or [Reg]x2 shields on full power (125) are not able to counter the drain from the drons - with 3 insulators and 9 points into the skill. If Acetons hit the right spot then getting out of range is impossible at all and I can only prolong my agony with shield/hull buffs before I get overwhelemd.

And no - being full healer I do not have FAW - 1 tac team for me, one for someone from my team. So this way of clearing the spam is out of question for me.

Sure, it is easier in team when tacs or other cruisers are clearing all this spam, but such team is not something seen too often on Fed side.

I would not mind the drones if the protection against them worked, but currently power insulators are either broken or I'm doing something horribly wrong.

all you need is tractor repulsors. They kill drones and its cooldown timer is lower than the carrier's best cooldown timer to re-launch them.
