You get one as a reward for a critical success on the support colonization efforts in rolor nebula assignment. Every time you crit you get one because the Doff is not unique. But I think it is bound to you so no way to trade it.

Then I pistol whip my Weapons Officer and have to get a replacement and the paperwork is just horrendus in the Empire.

Warp Core is good too. Since when you use any EPtX power it has a chance of upping all power levels. You can only use one per ship but with a purple it is possible to have all subsystems over 100 which is good for Escorts that run weapon high because you get a bump in resist in shields, defense because of engines and heals of shield distro officers because of aux.

Yeah, my escorts typically run one of those Warp Core guys, three BFIs, and that free maintenance doff we all got that ups damage by 10% when using a weapons bat (and has other bonuses for any bat in general). My sci runs that sensors doff instead of the warp core guy, though.

You can expand on the concept by chaining epts1 and epts2 on an escort and using the other officer for the cooldown reduction on ept-anything. By taking two blue ones with a little luck you can be very high on power almost all the time and under all those nice shield benefits on epts. Sorry I can't remember right now which exactly officer I'm talking about right now since I'm not in the game.

grav well and tykens rift both cant ever go below a 40 second cooldown (i may be mistekn on the rift but i know for sure on the well its global is 40 seconds)

so that deflector doff while sounding handy only effects those 4 powers. now if it also effected some gear powers (ie the maco heavy grav beam) itd be a lot more handy...

Conn officers currently give double the cooldown reduction than what is noted in the tool tip. So you can get 15 sec cooldown on Evasives

Damage Control reduces cooldown on EPTX powers on use. Get engineering up and you can have a blue and purple holographic doffs from your replicator (Engineering xp is easy to get, fab support, listening posts those new shipboard ones)

The Tractor Beam Doff, unlike what the tool tip says, its not maxed to 10 pulses, it fires every damage tick. So for TB1 15 ticks (i think?), TB2 34 ticks, TB3 40+ (?), that's a lot of shield drain (-85 per tick with a green on my sci ship)
