Activating secondary shields first helps.
But do you know what I really hate? On Azure, when I start a thalaron burst at a Taratula and the little SOB teleports me to it's front, but with my weapons facing the wrong direction...

Ahhh, The Scimitars. Let me tell you the fun in ISE the day they were released. Me, In my Steamrunner with 4 Scimitars. Like a mouse in a room of elephants. I spent more time trying to maneuver around them then I did fighting. And they were equally perplexed, not realizing how large they were, tripping over each other. Was truly comical. I still flinch a little when I see one....

Forget combat, sector space is a disaster. The Scimitar is literally 10x (at least) the size of my B'Rel.

I may need to take some of the things I said about CSE being easy back.
Last night I had a wake-up experience. Me in my Atrox, 2 scimitars, one assault cruiser and some kind of escort (looked like patrol escort).
I went to work on the left side, because I don't need any help with the spawning Raptor and Neggy. As I happily prepare to destroy one of the upper probes, i notice I'm being shot at....by a raptor! OK, I took care of it, but that was the first signal that something was off. I spawned my raptor and Negh and took care of them (they left me at low hull) and then another raptor surprised me and sent me in the respawn hell. At the moment I come from the other side (i.e. respawn) one of the cubes goes...and everything was downhill from that point on.The interesting thing is that the scimitars could hardly manage with the initial BoPs....
I'm not sure if the problem is in the ship, trying to be jack of all trades, or the majority of the players who went for it don't know how to set it up and fly it right.

Just about every STF.

I am currently unsupervised, anyone who knows me will tell you that this will most likely lead to trouble. =3
I'd post constructively but I'm too busy dodging the Forum MOD's due to my usual posts.

trust me, it ain't the ship - it's the captain; it's ALWAYS the captain...if they can even deserve to be called that

....Hooray this is still going!!....232 pages, 2300+ posts and still going strong!!!....

On an unrelated note, the only bad events I have anymore are usually FA and whatnot because some LT. or some such jumped in with his/her Miranda......then depending on how bad it goes I'll just leave and try again.....I guess I'm a bad teammate....

...Even the pugs aren't so bad (at least ISE) anymore.....on the very rare occasions I have to actually pug an STF......everybody has enough boom boom now to just faceroll ISE - in my stupid opinion the old 10% is(at least for the moment) a mostly antiquated tactic - still effective but unnecessary for the most part.....Even in CSE I've seen more and more teams doing RML...so...there's that....

...And I love my Scimitar.....even though I'm still working the kinks out of it...

For me, my worst STF experience was when I placed my oldest character, Vice Admiral Sampa Firespitter, equipped with the full Jem'Hadar ground set and newly acquired Mk XII Sonic Antiproton assault minigun into the ground elite mission...what was it...Khitomer in Stasis. SHEESH!!!! At one point, I think I had at least 60-100 assorted borg drones swarming ME and ignoring the rest of my team mates in the same room! Despite how hard I fought, I eventually was killed! Now, I am permanently banning myself from playing ground STF elite missions...permanently... or at least until I can get a hold of some Mk XII fleet armor or MACO armor and weapons!

lol. just ran a gorn minefield, and someone ended up rage blocking me

so we start normally, I go on my usual route, where I can kill 8 frigates without any trouble, and I was even happier, as I have found an efficient way of doing it, so I was happy. I kill my frigates, free the freighters, and see that 7 are to be freed.

however I see a player, lets call him Jack, goes to the next spawn points, the mines. usually, I just free one or two ships before heading there myself, but as I am a lone sci in a beamscort, I thought noone would get hurt, if I went there as well.

now, when I am there, I notice we stopped at 9/10 freighters, and Jack has his fleetmate also with him, Jill, who was silent. now another dude, wrote in chat, that too many are on our side, waiting for spawn, so he will not free the last freighter.

now that person I admire. srsly, whoever does this, I rly like. he knows his stuff, and stands his ground. rly no sarcasm here, he did the right thing. so realizing this, I stated the obvious. I will free the last ship, as it is highly unlikely, that anyone would be capapble of taking the first place from me.

Jack states that its not like there are many ways of taking first place. I did not go into details, as the only way I know you can get first place is by DPS. and technically, him going ahead to the spawns, confirms this. I am like, meh, went and freed the last ship, and went back, while Jack and Jill blasting their way through.

we get to the end, Jack barely gets ahead of us (also, he was in a Scimi, so yeah, thats the new Ody), but gets first to the final boss. in the end, he writes a kinda angry comment. I guess he did not get first place, like he thought he would.
I also assume that, because I got it. I was not shy to share that info with the group

he wrote something in PM to me about the fact that its not the first place, but how you act is important or whatever. it was written quite well, tho as he always went first to spawns, and I doublebacked to finish what he didnt, felt kinda ironic. tho could not share this with him, as he blocked me.

shame, because I woulda given him 200k EC, that the first place meant (its even generous I think, cause it wasnt that much, lol), if I could write on him.
