As far as I am aware, it is currently functioning as intended. That being said, I am aware it is considered very strong, and that some feel that it is overpowered. Another general pass at balance for the active roster abilities should eventually happen, and at that point (or before, if there is enough outcry) it may be looked at.

My impression has been that it is currently considered "one of the best" and "really good", but that there is not consensus that it is blatantly OP. I would welcome additional input, however.

I think you could stand to halve the magnitude of SDO Doffs, and people would still use 3 of them.

Something's out of whack when I'm only allowed one tractor beam or deflector officer, but there can be 3 shield distribution officers that have a much more dramatic effect.

I agree that it is too strong. I didn't even realize until recently that the healing effect was increased by Aux and that just makes it crazy. It's a great doff but one is more than enough in my opinion.

better untie it from aux... sciships don't need to get even stronger shields...

Hi ,

Bit of feed back

If I use two purple and a blue shield doffs on my Tac Escort in a competitive PvP match my healing is about 1 million, without them it would be about 250-300k.

This gives you the tank ability of a not bad healing cruiser and you retain the DPS of a very powerful escort, which gives a huge advantage and is a bit unbalanced.

It's like having an extra RSP every minute.

In PvE I can load up a cruiser with Shield Dist Doffs in a Fleet action and tank all the NPCs whilst still throwing out Max AOE DPS this gives me a huge advantage as I can just sit there and do huge dps and I'll virtually always win 1st place prize for very little effort.

It also makes PvE a bit too easy , when I am top DPS and drawing the aggro in elite STF I will be unlucky if I die once , I can usually tank the cube whilst doing max dps , before shield dist doffs if you drew aggro as a high DPS ship you would die several times and quite rightly so

Perhaps types of Doff should be limited to one of any type active ? This would perhaps encourage variety and be easier to balance

Thanks

All the best

I agree, one is enough. The power ends up refilling shields completely, so that proc shouldn't occur that often. Limiting it to one instead of three should make it reasonable. It's almost mandatory in PvP now to load three.

It is tied to Brace for Impact, so not matter how many Sdist Doffs you equip, you're only getting the effect once per minute. Additional doffs increases the magnitude (Often to ridiculous levels) of course. I'd probably limit it to one myself.

The main reason to stack multiple are to reduce the chance the proc will 'fail' when you use brace for impact, which is pretty important considering how strong the effect is. You might accidently find yourself counting on it, which is bad.

Does it proc when taking any damage or only after using Brace for Impact as it indicates?

I never put any on, since I never use Brace.
