I dont agree. As much as i'm beginning to loath Cryptic\PWE's relentless lust so take my money, i think thry'd make more from keeping them as full sets, i had 400 C-Points with nothing much to do with them and fsncied alittle retail therapy, thats ok as i can go and buy the NX class off the hat and have something cool to roll with when making new toons. I dont really care for its console, seems useless to my builds but i have it and the ship so thats that. If you brake up uniforms then i only need to spend a small fraction for a new piece of uniform ehen i'd have to buy the whole thing before. So surely Cryptic would loose money?

no, no, lord no

ive played games where the cash store was set up like this

the ''packs'' are so much better, everything for each uniform contained in a single purchase, you dont have to sort through hundreds of pieces to find a single piece you're missing

You see players with vastly original and unique clothing and items that they have purchased one little piece at a time.

what is to stop people doing this now?

you buy the bundles, you're getting the full sets, and the ability to mix and match with other sets

so why change that? why make it more complicated for people?

and why on earth make it more expensive? 50cp for a belt? no chance

I think he got a point with this one. For instance the new flagships can be bought in a set of 3. Having three (same) ships with consoles that can be combined is a bit to much just to get all three consoles. I bet most players who bought this set will fly with only one, maybe 2 type of cruiser. Buying the consoles separately would be nice in this case in stead off spending 4000 CP.

In this particular case the difference between the 3 ship configuration is to limited and cost you 3 ship slots. Buying separate consoles would make sense. Same with the Long Range Science Vessel and refit, Tactical Escort and refit. Heck all refit's and their normal counterparts.

I will never buy two of the same type of ships just to get the console. Buying the console however, I would do for one of my ships.

I'd be for this. Sometimes I'm only interested in a ship's costume or console, or the ship itself without either.

Nobody says that the C-store has to be "packs only" or "individual items" only.

I know of a game that works off the combined model - and of all games, it's a (cartoony) FPS, Specifically Battlefield Heroes, if you've heard of the game...

For the longest time, I've eyeballed a sword-heavy Goth look for that game. Combining both the back ninja swords from the Ninja pack, and the waist-hung broadsword from the "honor guard" pack, with a Trenchcoat, white T-shirt, and Boots/Pants. Buying these parts individually would've set me back about 150% the cost of the "ninja" pack, but was a heck of a lot cheaper than buying 5 full uniform packs, just to mix-match the 5 parts I desired.

That's what the OP seems to be looking for. I think on the Wiki or in his "canon color" guide, Blackavaar made a "TWoK Mirror" uni by recoloring the Kahn uni, using a mirror-verse combadge, and adding on the Ent-era Mirror sash belt.

For me to replicate that look, with my already-bought TWoK uni, would require me to invest in 1-2 more clothing packs, the Enterprise-era pack (for the belt) and maybe the ToS Mirror pack (for the combadge, unless I felt like using the Ent-era badge). $20-$40 for 2 accessories, and an even bigger list at the tailor with "show unowned costume parts" unchecked isn't worth it for me to be a Mirror guy in my favorite uni. However, if I could buy this for $1, at most $2 a part, it'll be more tempting for me to assemble this look, instead of waiting till I farm up enough Dilith for two whole model packs that I'd probably never use the other parts from...

Although I'm a little leery of this, wondering how many "lady" toons we'd see running around with a ToS Mirror Fed Lady top on and "stock" pants/skirts...
