# 1 Advice from pvp fleets
03-24-2012, 11:38 AM
Hello Gents/ladies

Im the fleet leader of the 110th fleet, im sure at some point or other you have seen some of the 110th ships in pvp arenas. The thing is we all are so used to pugg'n it on our own that when we come to do pvp as a team we tend to come bottom of the pile against other premades.

Dont get me wrong some of the 110th pvp'ers are very good piolts and expierenced pvp'ers its just when we come together as a team we struggle a bit. We do try and cross heal as much as possible and focus targets unless we need to split the team to focus on a healer and a primary target, we use vent, but we just cant seem to get it right.

Now from seeing some of the really good team work from pvp fleets such as the Panda's, TSI, Angry Clowns, LaFamilia, Ramfloute and a few of the klink fleets we really could use some basic pointers and advice. Not asking for your tactics or anything just a few pointers as tio where we may be going wrong.

Cheers for your time all.

As always, the Sad Pandas maintain an open Vent. If you would like to sit in on some matches, or discuss setups, hit one of us up in game and it can probably be arranged.

the right pilots.

the right timing.

the right ship/build combinations.

communication.<====== is key.

as brandon pointed out, the pandas invite a lot of players to vent to discuss these things. we are in it for better games all around. no vanity, no grudges. just good pilots talking good gaming....and trek of course!

have fun kill bad guys

The trick is to practice as a team as well. You have to know what each other is going to do. If you guys just randomly do a pug once a month you will not know each others tactics, and you will get tossed to the way side.

Cheers for the reply peeps,

Have read the post in the link you provided and noted, I have got 10 of our fleet members that are interested in pvp to meet up now on a regular basis, we held a lil pvp meeting to discuss the way forward for us and here is what we decided to do.... (any further advice tips welcome)

1) The full 10 of us from our fleet that want to do pvp are going to ensure we have at least 2 toons each of different careers, with the ship class to match, ie tact in escort, engi in cruiser. This is so we can ensure we have a good balanced team who ever is online in the fleet.

2) Once all 10 of the fleet pvp,ers have two toons pvp ready, we are going to sit down and work on builds that complement each other and ensure we have bridge officer abilities that cover most senarios for cross healing, enemy pet spam, ss, am and subnuke as well as the Klink drones to name but a few.

3) Start holding fleet internal pvp arena matches to build up on team play, get used to each other's play style, used to healing when needed and game tactics to try and out smart the opposition.

Then its going to be practice practice practice,

,
this is actually one of the most limiting things i can think of to do.

i've always felt its more important to fly what your comfy with first then figure what ship to stick the captain in.

ive seen great success with engineering escorts, or science escorts, or tactcal cruisers (excelsior only) or science cruisers or even tactical science ships.

mixing and matching is half the fun. (im not saying they all need not fly their "class" of ships but that only limiting to those ships may hinder your efforts at pvp.)
