For some reason the in game bug system thinks that "Commandant of Starfleet Academy" is a swear word and won't allow me or other players report this via a support ticket so I guess I'll have to go this method.

For the last 48 hours or so, the Commandant of Starfleet Academy has been standing on his desk shooting through the window in his office on Starfleet Academy Instance #1.

Picture here: http://www.stowiki.org/File:Commanda...going_nuts.png

Not normally a big concern but i have to wonder when other NPCs get killed at Starfleet academy, they reset via a beam out and a beam back every so often. This hasn't happened in this case. I have to wonder if there's a programming issue with his routines. What routines he does have consider all he does is sit there normally, another concern of mine.

Can we also check the swear filter and figure out why "Commandant of Starfleet Academy" is considered a dirty word?

thanks,

Maybe the crazy hologram from "What lies Beneath" has possessed him!!

How does one go about doing an exorcism when the possessor is a hologram??

Well, "Commandant" might be tripping an oldschool "C*nt" filter if the * were being parsed as a wildcard. Personally, I have no idea why there *IS* a profanity filter on the ticket/reporting system, since someone might well need to report offensive language in a mission, doff name (it's happened a lot) or whathaveyou.

Try filing the report with the word "Commander" instead, and see if that works.

Thank you for the response. To be perfectly honest, I;ve bent over backwards on this issue. if they want to deal with it, they can from here. This isn;t the first issue that's been caught in their filters or been in a bug report that's never shown up on my list. I made my report and I;ve moved on.

The reason for this is the new veteran dilithum refiner NPC is marked as a klingon and therefore hostile. The Commander is shooting at him through the window.

Thanks for the response but not sure who you mean by the "new veteran dilithum refiner NPC" Not one in the area.

Actually looks like they're shooting in the direction of the Vulcan personal officer.

It's weird that it's going out the window like that.

edit: Someone ingame pointed out that NPCs walking by on the path just outside of the office cringe like something is there.

reedit: Also pointed out and verified, beaming down Security Escort results in them firing to a spot in the air near the pedestal just outside of the office.

On #12, there's a cadet standing in the lake shooting at the same spot.

The people of Starfleet academy are nuts.
