You're taking it upon yourself to deliver information and instruction to other people. And not bothering/not familiar with the material to make sure even the basic facts are correct.

I am more than familiar with literally every aspect of this game (check my creation date), last time I checked, humans can make mistakes.

on the base damage?
The equation for damage is much more complex than that.

You need to add the rarity of the type and a slew of other factors.

See these threads:

But, in terms of just the consoles, it would be more like 1+ (.26 x C), where C is the number of consoles.

So, if you have 3 consoles, it would be 1.78. If you have 4 consoles, it would be 2.04.

# 25 Ship dps configurator

First of all, thank you for all replies, I learnt a lot. But it is still complicated for me, english is no my mother tounge, and mostly these technical words and meanings are not familiar to me.

If remember right, in the past there was a program, may be a java applet to configure the current ship`s dps. Are you heard about it?

It was a good idea to test the ship before you spend a lot of dilithium/EC/CP.

Star Trek Online Combat Log Parser: http://sourceforge.net/projects/stocombat/

To enable your logs in game, use the /combatlog 1 (to enable logging) and 0 (to disable logging).

Then, go to your log folder and open it with the parser.

I think when you say cannons, people think you mean DHCs or Dual Heavy Cannons. Single Cannons are used in only one build I know of, and thats the excelsior cannons and turrets build. Dual Cannons have the same DPS as Dual Heavy Cannons, but more shots over time. So on hit effects are better with Dual Cannons, Dual Heavies pack more punch up front. Single Cannons and Turrets can be equipped on anything. Dual Cannons and Dual Heavy Cannons can only be equipped on escorts and the dreadnaught (and some KDF ships, whatever KDF doesn't count).

Eeeeeyeah, I saw the same thing you did and was like, pretty sure dual cannons have same arc as dual heavies else they would ALWAYS be used in PvP. Always. Anyway, yeah, don't give out advice and then get it wrong, just makes you look like a ponce. (the generic you...not YOU you).

Having done some serious experimentation recently I have to conclude that my DPS dropped significantly when I swapped out to Dual Cannons away from the Dual Heavies.

The Static part of my escort build was
Fore: 1 Torp, 3 X
Aft: 3 Turrets

With 3 Dual Cannons I lost quite a bit of DPS during Rapid fire and Scatter Volley. And since I have one of each one is always up.

With 1 Dual Heavy Cannon and 2 Dual Cannons, my DPS was in still that bit lower than 3 Dual Heavies.

Now with 2 Dual Heavies and 1 Dual Cannons my DPS actually surpassed my 3 DHC build.

Now I didn't swap out anything but Cannons so energy type and boost consoles where still the same, so I'm going to make the assumption that it's the way the Energy drains that helps my DPS here.

The Bonus is my Raptor also looks much cooler while firing. As the Nose has a chin turret and Dual Cannon mounts and the Wings have the DHC mounts. And yes I find it weird that my rear mounted turret appears to fire from the front of the ship.
