I consider myself somewhat decent at ekeing out ~60 power from 25, but those numbers are almost double what I've ever seen. What am I missing? Help me out here

He cant hold those power levels for more than 10 seconds or so at a time.

You get that from either double-siphon stacking (works once every 20 secs) on top of a proc from emg power to- Doff or he's running aux to battery while at max aux and double stacks siphon.

In either case those power levels don't hold for very long nor are they easy to keep cycling (lots of clicking) unless he has those lame macros that just slams spacebar to activate every single ability on the ship.

Next patch's he's screwed if its siphon anyways..it got nerfed big time.

Thanks, Commander. That now makes a lot more sense.

It didn't occur to me to try using EmPwr abilities on a Science vessel, though. That seems like it could work (with low normal Aux power) since I imagine Science Boff abilities only check power at the time they are fired; this would free up normal ship's power for weapons.

Ok let me redo this as I tend to ramble. My sci ship will have fore, 1x dual beam 2x torps, aft all turrets. GWII, TRII, torp spread, repell beam. I am not sure on consoles yet or the rest of my BOFF skills. My boat is a RSV retrofit (nebula class). Was looking for input on what you use that works. I have looked over a lot of posts to this effect and need more.

Does anyone understand the Developer rationale behind the Console changes? I'm playing my Science Captain more, and it really looks like a straight-nerf to a already sub-par Class.

At this point, it appears from my testing that Aux Power trumps console bonuses (although I'm still trying to understand the Deflector bonuses and how they apply).

I don't understand how a Engineering Captain with EPS Power Transfer isn't a better Science Ship Captain than a Science Captain...

Anyway, I am thinking a field like GW, TR because one type console should boost both of those, stack and rack and max skills. 1x dual bank 2x torps (photon) infront, turrets in the back, Not sure on other suff, DOFF to help cool downs and reloads, Im still a noob when it comes to DOFFs and BOFFs but getting there.

I am using a ARV retrofit ( i know a big SOB) but I like it. Do you all think running the borg set would give me a slight edge, not looking for DPS but for a support role, slow the enemy and let the tanks and escorts finish them off. I really do not have clue on the SCI ship right now. I really like the idea of it due to there are not many out there right now. Ill read all the fourms I can but your opinion on builds would be great to hear.

If i run multi torp bays up front, should I run Torp spread 1 and 2 or does it matter.
Pardon,

TR is buffed by Flow Cap
GW is buffed by SPG

Tyken's Rift (and I assue Gravtiy Well) do damage each tick based on Aux at that point in time. Just tested it a couple of days ago.. very dissapointing. Started high, when switched power profiles. Damage got lower and lower as the power transfer changed from Aux to Weapons.

Energy Siphon should just be "At fire time."

Yea I'm going to have to figure out what to do with that =\

2x Syphon 125 aux and weapons lets me give 30 power to shields when under fire with the MACO bonus. There's nearly no randomness or downtime to those numbers after 30s.
