I'm not in the know to speak so I do not know if this is something that would take a lot of programming or possibly something that is doable in some kind of short to mid range development. The idea and this is just an example for both factions is various contact npcs that give you one additional daily. So if you are mostly into pve or pvp or like to switch up now and again to have a system where you get an item reward from completing a certain mission for that day. Then you have a contact that you can turn in these items kind of like how you do for STF's with the prototypes.

The idea behind it being somewhat easy is to take existing rewards and make a new one that has somewhat improved abilities like purple hybrid weapons, purple breen clusters, etc for pve. Then for like PvP for a space example say something like a pvp accuracy or dps bonus. Is also a way as developers if you see missions that do not see much attention after a player has completed it leveling up or even a foundry mission that meets some kind of unknown criteria and even would create a reason for players to even go to do pvp.

The only problems I could see at the moment would be things said such as programming, scheduling time, if it would be anything Cryptic of PWE would even remotely be interested in as well as some kind of balance to the design of it to keep people from just going in and going afk to get it done. Best things for the non-internal issue though is not everyone is going to be good at pvp but everyone would want to eventually be able to get this kinda stuff if it were in the game. So what I'd recommend for example if person A just sits and AFK's they get nothing. If person B C and D hit X amount of damage dealt along with a healing factor as well that even if they lose they still get something. A possible revamp too of how the rewards are dished out at the end of PvP matches.

As well some of stated they do not agree with how players are going into pvp and afking or saying kill me as fast as you can so I can get my dilithium. So pretty much with some motivation in terms of that can increase your pve or pvp experiences in the game as well as some balance and revamp along with the current reward process of a match once internal issues are resolved I believe this or something similar in nature could work to bettering the system of pvp as well as pve.

(Edited in: There is one issue I forgot to mention in this that may be a reason some of my ideas are not in the game already and why a thread like this even started. One issue that plagues many MMO's that isn't such a big problem in this one is because some of the things I would like to see in the game such as PvP breeds unsavory conduct as far as players playing legit and being that its well known there isn't a large enough staff of GM's out there to police such actions it could make the fun of PvP end in its infancy if we had such development. Then again since there is more back and forth feedback in this game with devs and players it might not be so bad and could possibly be surprised )

Well, variations on maps and startegies would be appriciated, but what is really missing is meaningful PVP in at least some "open world" areas or for "teritorial system" control.

As for maps:
- we could certainly use a 10 vs 10 arena map.
- A capture the flag with just one center flag to "hold a base"
- Defend a base, with tow attackable / destroyable bases (one for each side) or laternatively the same type of scenario but as escort mission (both sides have to guard a convoey corssing though the pvp area)
- Battle ground map (15 vs 15) that has three points to defend on eitehr side and ends when one side is overrun.

Well, thats my 2 cents to the discussion anyway.

Speaking of PVP arena maps, ever noticed how the fights always occur above the map clutter in open space? I find myself often fighting with the "outside zone" window on my screen (sadly, this window coverring half the screen is still preferable to the asteroids).

The last thing we need while in PVP is to be stuck in (or bouncing off) some object (happens way too often). Remove the stupid asteroids and make them open empty maps.

Or not. Some people actually know how to use terrain such as it exists in space. If you're having trouble steering your ship around stationary objects, you could always try Aux to dampers or a deuterium surplus.:p

I wish they would drop the roof and raise the floor. Too much is done far above the good stuff and we lose a lot of tactical options.

This.

We don't have a Z axis anyway, and there are no map features that far up there. Just drop the ceiling, raise the floor. It would also save on memory required to run the game client, and server side alike.

Cryptic would it help if some of us used the foundry and made the pvp map's for u ? .
This way it should b alot easier for u to put it in game and not use as much of your time to make the map's ?

I am at work, and can not play sto atm. I am a pvper in sto, and I think i have some really good ideas, that would not be hard to impliment!

I like this idea, but istead of making it based off kills or damage, lets make a system that you get "Honor" when you kill another player. When you kill other players, and get more honor, you get a rank at each level of more honor. and say if a lower honor player would kill a higher level honor person in a ranked pvp match, than that person would get a little more honor since they are a higher rank person that is better at pvp. Not only do we get honor and go up in rank, but also make it so that we get honor points which i will dicuss in my next idea.

My next idea is this. Make it so that we can buy pvp gear with honor points! I dont like that i have to grind STf's just to get decient gear, Let us pvp'ers pvp for our gear! make 3 different sets, one for damage, one for tanking, and one for healing! honor points should be on the side on top of the honor ranking system, in that is can be added to our currency section in our bags. let the winning team get honor points, this will provoke more people into pvping as there are now REWARDS to pvping. It will make pvp more balanced because there are so many pugs right now that just get facerolled by premades. This will be nice for a more organized and intense pvp experience!

i would also love to have a kill count of how many player ships i have killed in a pvp section that could be implimented like "o" for friends or "u" for ships, creat a pvp section, or make it a tab in the "L" section
