I had an epiphany today, and despite being in the middle of two simultaneous missions being made, i had to begin this one i immediately.
If anyone has played my very first Foundry mission "When The War Began" which was reviewed by dstahl himself, and reviewed on Priority one by brandon back in the day, they will recognize this description with a twist.
"When The War Began Again"
The Colony of New Australia has been fierce and independent for many years.
All that is about to change, the Terran Federation has learned Ellie, one of it's young rebellious teens, has organized a local resistance and begun terror attacks against the local overseer. Sent by command, you are to capture or kill this spirited young woman and get New Australia to bow to the Terran Federation!
This mission is a Mirror Universe version of "When the War began" my first Foundry mission.
That's right--the mission begins with players already assumed to be their Mirror Universe counterparts. Like "In a Mirror darkly" it starts right off and dives in, immersed in the MU.
Grrr, I was planning to do something very similar.
Here's an idea: perhaps you could recommend that players use the Jem'Hadar shields from "The 2800" with visuals enabled. That would give their ships a purple skin similar to that on Terran Empire ships.
No reason why you can't do yours as well And that's a good idea about the shields.
Per your suggestion as I edit the many ships in a fleet rally and fleet battle scene, I began altering the custom ships with purple corvus style design on the hulls. It really is making the ships feel Mirror Uni.
