After playing on my Tac and not recieving any heals in pug pvp, I have decided to try and fill a cavity and build a support cruiser which can heal and dps a little.

New(ish) to game - so any criticism and advice would be welcome.

Ship - Vor'cha Retrofit. Decided the extra manuverability would help keep me in place to heal where required, and to help keep a full shield between me and any incoming damage.

Captain - Engineer.

Tactical Lt..............TT1, BFAW2
Tactical Ensign......BFAW1
Eng Commander....EPTW1, ET2, EPTS3, ES3
Eng Lt Com............EPTW1, RSP1, EPTS3
Sci Lt......................HE1, TSS2

I have left the EPTS at 3 (and 2 copies) because as soon as I throw extend on a teammate, I tend to get focussed - this lets me soak up the damage till they give up or swap targets.

Fore - 4 beam array (was thinking of 3 and torp/dual)
Deflector - Borg
Engine - Borg
Shield - Honor Guard (when it drops Paratrinic for now)
Aft - 4 beam array (poss slowing mines/torp)
Devices - Batteries / Subspace Field Modulator.
E. Consoles - RCS accelerator / Neutronium Alloy / Flow Capacitor / (2nd Neut or 2nd Flow Cap)
S. Consoles - Borg / Field Generator
T. Consoles - 3 x Energy type (not sure which is best - any ideas?)

Running with all beams so they are more 'fire and forget' with their forgiving arcs i can follow heal target when needed.

I run with 2 power settings - 100/50/25/25 for dps, and 25/50/25/100 for healing.

Please feel free to suggest improvments, whilst doing so - does antone have a preference as to energy type for pvp, was thinking of Polaron or Tetryon for procs.

Thanks again for any replies.

I will add my two cents, boff wise I would use:
Tac Lt. FAW1, APB1
Tac Ensign FAW1
Eng Commander EPtW1, EPtS2, Aux2sif2, ES3
Eng Lt. Commander EPtS1, RSP1, ET3
Sci Ensign HE1, TSS2

8 Beam arrays of your choice, disruptor and phaser are common choices.
Borg Deflector.
Borg Engines.
KHG shield.

Eng Consoles: 3x EPS, 1x Neutronium Alloy.
Sci Consoles: Borg, Field Generator.
Tac Consoels: 3x Energy type console.

Power levels:
100/25/25/50 for DPS.
25/50/25/100 for Healing.

Doffs:
3x BFI, 2x Engy Team CD.

Thanks for input.

I take it the TT is dropped due to the clash with ET ?

Also is there a cap on the CD you can get ET down to when using Doffs (i.e. are 2 purple overkill - not that i have them yet!)

Have tried the Boff layout and there is a small problem - with 2 x epts & 2 x eptw I am able to keep the buff rolling from both, with only 1 eptw I can no longer do this.

Yes.

You can take 15 seconds off your CD with doffs, because at 15 seconds you hit the GCD, So two purples at 8 seconds each would be perfect.

I did this because the extra heal every 15 seconds is alot more valuable than the extra weapon power imo.

I thought that Boffs of identical rarity didn't stack. Was that ever the case, or have I always been wrong about that?

Agreed - but using the 'dragon' build (cant remember link) the eptX become fire and forget skills leaving you to concentrate on party frames. Its not about the weapon power - more that you can macro 4 emt skills to your facerollbar and forget about them.

I think maybe losing both EPTW skills will stop the clash - and allow he extra heal. Will try and repost build if this works.

BTW have decided to go for phaser. After a bit more research it seems that disruptor is more usefull - but doesnt stack as well. Best combo in a premade is 1 x escort with disruptor, and the rest following his target with phasers.

I'd switch into the Negh'var and then you can chain both EptW and EptS without giving anything up for only -1 turn rate and -APD, plus you also get an extra little bonus of 3000 hull!

3000 hull is worth less then the extra defence you get from being able to turn a full shield in combat with the Vor'cha. Plus with an increased turn rate you slow down less when evading/following a taget - and your speed impacts your defence rating. Try this out for yourself - open defence stats when stationary and note figure, see the difference between 75% and 100% speed (approx the increase turn gained).

The most important difference tho, is the fact that i can almost keep up with bops and rators keeping them alive for longer - which is kind of the point of a healer

I must say the skill set does seem appealing tho. But try as i might, I still like to see dps figures fter a match - and APB makes all the difference!

Was thinking about the trade off at work - and had a stack of dilithium sat around so decided to give your suggestion a try.....what a result!
Credit where its due thanks for the advice. Will now respec some officers for a pve dps in my Vor'cha.
