Okay so im seeking to maximize my DPS as much as possible and wanted to get some insight to see where and how i can improve


Current Ship: Advanced Escort

Fore Weapons:

AP Dual Heavy Cannons x2 (CrtH) (Dmgx2) MkXI
Tetryon Cannon MkXI (CrtD) (CrtHx2)
Quantum Torpedo Launcher MkXI (Crth) (CrtD) (Borg)

Aft Weapons:

AP Beam Array MkXI (CrtH) (Dmgx2) *Need to change this*
AP Turret MkXI (CrtH) (Dmgx2)
Tricobalt Mobile Launcher MkXI (CrtD) (CrtH) (Borg) * great for flipping around and popping off HYT3 to make this a HVY Tricobalt Device 3 for ALOT of damage + creating a Black Hole for 5 Secs.


Deflector:

Positron Deflector Array MkXI (SIF) (SubD) (INS)

Impulse:

Combat Impulse Engines MkXI (AUX) (SPD) (TURN)

Shields:

Covariant Shield Array MkXI (Cap) (Pol) (Tet)


Tactical Consoles:

AS far as personal skills go ive maxed out all skills that would aid or help DPS output

AS fat as DO's go i have 3 very rare Projectile officers and 2 very Rare Energy officers on active space duty (Do these stack??)



What do you guys think? where can i improve?

First of all , don't mix energys, use only 1 type (tactical consoles stack, so using 4 of the same type, will give to a big DPS increase)

Wan't to use torpedos? ok, but u need to have good timming, so the torpedos hit when is facing shield is down (torpedos make good damage vs Hull, but don't do nothing vs shields)

Front: 3x DHC of the same type + 1x Quantum torpedo
Back: 3x Turrets of the same type as DHC
Borg Engine
Borg Deflector
Maco Shield
Eng Consoles: Borg Console, Neutronium Alloy
Sci Consoles: 3x Field Generator
Tact Consoles: 4x for the energy type of DHC's and Turrets

Don't use plasma, the best choice for a tactical are Phaser/Antiproton/Disruptor, choice one only, don't mix energys.
Borg items, maco shield, DHC's and Turrents can be get easy from STF, don't need to use energy credits (at least u wan't some [Acc]x2 o [Acc]x3 weapons.. but for start STF gear is fine)

U don't have beams, don't use BO (Beam Overload). BO is only for Beam's. Use 2xTactical Team 1 (Don't use tactical team 2, no sense). Use EPTS x2 (Emergency power to the shields), and Hazzard Emiters.
Use Attack paterns, are very important, at least one copy of attack patern omega is need.
Use 2xCannons Rapid fire, and Torpedo High Yield (don't use Scatter voley or Torpedo Spread for pvp, no sense)

Thx for the info a simple typo i think may throw some off..this is mainly a build for STF with SOME PvP..ive since swapped Beam array aft for a AP Turret (borg) and the Tet cannon on front is simply to aid in shield droppage since Tet are supposed to be top energy type for that. Im well aware tht torps are useless against sheids hence why i supplemented using a Tet cannon on front to help with that issue. Im torn with swapping my TriCobalt launcher with another turret since seeing 45k+ Dmg crits every 60 secs with HVY Tricobalt Device 3 is somewhat addicting



And yes i read that link thats where alot of this build came from

I've used Torpedo Spread to some effect against shields. It doesn't do as well as, say three DHC and 3 turrets, but still.

I use Tetryon to great effect in my Fleet Escort. Why would Antiproton, Phaser, or Disrupter be a better choice?

I haven't been in pvp, but Scatter Volley and Torpedo Spread work wonders against groups of enemies in PvE. I'm assuming there aren't that many occasions in PvP where you're fighting against a group?

IF u wan't a mix PVP/STF build, follow the link i give too you in my last post, is an excelent guide, @Kostamojen did an excelent work.
I will say it again: DONT MIX ENERGY! (do remember Q sayin to Q "DON'T PROVOKE THE BORG"? well, like that). If u wan't to use tetryon, use all tetryon, don't use just 1, u won't drain nothing with a 2.5% of -125 of shield (any human player have over 10.000 in each facing), and u will loss a lot of DPS because the tact console won't do any effect on your tetryon weapon. And The most of the objectives in STF don't have shields (transwarp gate, generators, transformers, etc..)

Some ppl use tricobalt, i don't like, maybe for crusiers are usefull. For escort just 1 quantum, or 1 croniton for pvp (the croniton movement debuff is not affect by attack patern omega, so there is no way of remove it, very usefull for pvp).

The effect is negible, torpedos must be used vs hull. That is a fact

Because of the proc, my post was based from a PvP point of view. Shield drain builds requiere more than just Tetryon weapons (Tachyon beam, tetryon glider, etc..and ofc hight AUX power), the proc of tetryon weapons is quite small, u will gain more benefit from other procs if u are a tactical on a escort ship. Phaser proc is excelent, if u take his shield or engines with the procs u have a big chance of making him blow (excellent for PvP, not very usefull in PvE), disruptor is good for debuff hull resistences (good vs crusiers in pvp, and capital ships in PvE), and Antiproton Proc increase your critical hit (very usefull for PvE, and quite good for pvp too)
I use phaser for PvP, and Antiproton+1xQuantum Torp. for STF (and PvE in general..)

Scatter Volley and Torpedo Spread do AoE damage (Are of effect), but the damage to single target is small compared with Rapid Fire and High Yield. Escorts take 1 target a the time, u can't kill nobody if u are spreading your damage to 5 players, u need to focus in 1. Test it in pvp and u will see, human players are not dumb as pve mobs.
For STF i use full AoE (Scatter voley x2 and Torp. Spread), but for PvP nobody use those attacks, only usefull for get rid of the tachyon drones when u play vs klingor carriers, but is a very special scenario, for that i have 1 of my reserve boff with Scatter voley

Thanks for the info! I'll keep my tetryon weapons, my torp spread, and my Scatter Volley until I can get more Boffs and better gear in general.

I made a few changes to my build most notably swapping Ap beam array for a AP turret (Borg) and ditched Tact Team 2 for Torp Spread 2 so i have a 2nd option in STF 15 secs after torp spread 3 is popped. i ditched Beam overload for an additional Tact Team 1..i see what your saying about the "useless tet cannon on front" but will swapping it out for a AP cannon or AP DHC be that more effective? i assume it may? since im running 2 rare mk11 AP mags. i wanted to kinda have some sort of hybrid escort that can dish out massive damage in STF yet be a formidable opponent in PVP

I just wanted to say that in PVP Torp Spread 3 can be extremely viable if used effectively, just as with FAW in PVP if you can get it to fire on one person it is devastating. I switched from HY3 to Torp Spread 3 and I found that it was much more efficient. Take this with a grain of salt though because I just came back from a long hiatus and have only played for ~2 weeks since I came back.
