Curios if there are other things that happen besides just stopping from seeing them in the chat pane. If I ignore someone will that remove them from getting grouped wih me in a random PvE or PvP queue?

Unfortunately, no.
There are games where people you have ignored/blacklisted/blocked are not only silenced, but also have their physical player models removed from your view as well. They are literally non-existent to you until you unblock them.

I wish it worked like that in STO some times ~_~

Ignoring someone also hides their forum posts from you - they get replaced with a line saying there's a post missing, and who wrote it, but you don't have to see their words.

I was really hoping it would remove them from being paired up with myself if I join the queue for STFs. Thanks!
