5k for a random blue, 30k in blues for a random purple with a chance at a UR or 25k in greens for the same (but a much higher time requirement)

Honestly, sounds more like a waste of dilithium to me - it's easy to generate white and green doffs in greater numbers than you can ever compress down.

Well that was my thought as well, but maybe there was something else going on?

Obviously I don't expect it to be spelled out but it would be nice to have an idea of what it was.
Currently it costs approximately 2200 CP to get a guaranteed non Commendation Purple (1 in 10 CStore Packs). That's 550k Dilithium. Be able to use Commendation Doffs turns that down to 25k. Obviously, this doesn't tickle Cryptic's accountants in the right way.

I'm not sure I understand that logic. 10 C-store packs gives you 70 Doffs doesn't it? Only 1 of them a purple.

1 purple = 25K
~ 10 blues= 50k (5k each)
~23 greens= 23k

then you have around 36 commons. Those can be tossed into the doff compactor for 7 more greens worth a total of about 7k.

Hmm... that adds up to only around 100K dil. So yeah less than 20%. what does Ferra charge for purples again?

12k for purples, 6k for blues, 1000 for greens.

Ok, so to do the math again,

1 purple = 12 K
10 blue = 60 k
~30 green = 30 k

using 550k dil to buy 10 C-Store doff packs is a rip off when you can get the same value of Doffs from Ferra for 102k.

The difference is in getting DIFFERENT doffs than what you can get from Ferra.

Just to point out but its not 100% ull get a purple in 10 packs. I did 15 packs this weekend and got 0.

i am glad someone pointed that out as it is probability, a 1 in 10 chance of getting it doesnt mean you are certain to get in 10 packs. It is possible to open 100 packs and never get a purple although the likelihood is small but it is POSSIBLE. :p

Meanwhile, I burn off my old green DOffs on Exchange Programs.
they could fix that by doing a bind in bind out rule. So if even 1 of doffs you throw in is bound, the converted doff will also be bound.

I'd much rather have that then be sitting on a ton of bound greens with limited usefulness

then I could take bound greens to turn into bound blues to bound purps and be able to increase my chances of crits.

Except you can just buy DOFFs right off the market using ECs, the other Fake Currency.
