Is the dreadnought an overall stronger ship than any one of the C-store Odyssey class or is any one of the C-store Odyssey an overall stronger ship than the dreadnought?

My doubt stems from the lack of useful abilities in the dreadnought while u can have more useful ability in any 1 of the Odyssey and get an extra equipment slot! They turn the same.

Cloak only gives extra damage bonus for a VERY short time and once engaged in battle is of no use at all, cannon is useless with slow turn rate while the spinal lance doesn't deal that great damage and the use is very circumstantial due to the dreadnought slow turning rate an long recharge time. It seems the dreadnought only has superficial advantages or at best circumstantial advantages.
The cloak would count as something if Kerrat(open PvP) wasn't gone.

Why does it cost so much (2000 c-points) for the dreadnought with less combat value than the other tier 5 c-store ships.....

I just like it for the fact Admiral Riker commanded one

But would it be a wise choice for my toon which will be depending on this ship for PvP and elite STF? Or should I just buy one of the C-store Odyssey?

The dreadnought begs for a set of passive bonus.....or any passive bonus.

Both ships are really good i have both of them and i prefer a bit more odyssey but more dps have the dread so as a conclude if u know hot to setup both ships for your playing style then u be able to have lot of fun btw healing is the key for both of them manage to have good heal and the the only way to beat u is hitting u three escorts trusty maybe u can manage with 2 but with three noway it is a powerfulls ships

Ah the thing is I'm very reluctant to buy the C-store Odyssey because I'm not that fond of the design.

It is not bad just I found it to be a boring design and it gets boring fast simply due to the fact it has NO NOSTALGIC value whatsoever for having never appeared in any Star Trek franchise besides the game alone. And it kind of look like a whale to be honest.

I grabbed the Bortasqu on the otherhand because I think the design is BRILLIANT. Best looking cruiser the Klingon ever had. The Qu'Daj(Negh'var variant) comes as second place or tie. Bortasqu(Bortas) looks like a starship on steroid which is always good(even servant of the Most High appeared to be on steroid to the extreme even, like nothing man has ever seen, lol but that's another story).

IMO, the Dreadnaught is underpowered for a 2k cpoint ship, and is totally supplanted by the tactical oddy. It is the only pay to play ship I really dislike.

Yeah I tend to agree with this assessment too(I tend to favor Science and Operation Oddyssey)

It begs at least a passive skill bonus. or maybe another weapon slot :p(i know no way) or make the cloak inherent freeing one equipment slot for other use.

I may still get it though not because it is a good ship but for roleplaying the game and going nostalgic about TNG. Hey it is just a game anyway.

But I cant' understand why it is slotted as 2,000 c-point ship when in fact the Excelsior may even be a better overall ship(better turn rate and comes with passive bonus set aside the non combat value of transwarp). Don't push the more hitpoints factor as once shield is down HP DOESN"T mean anything much especially without good plating and hull armor....

If I follow my head I'll surely get either Odyssey or T5 Excelsior
But it seems I'm going to follow my heart and settle with the dreadnought. I'm not going to be very happy with the ship performance but I'll be happy just looking at it

And though silly for PvP I'm still going to put a single dual heavy phaser cannon fore as an icing to the fun playing the dreadnought.

I have no doubt it will do well in PvE(even standard Galxy would too) but for PvP I hope the others do the job for me while I try my best to give them a looming target to fire upon and leave the rest to luck. I know kind of pathetic as I will be commanding a dreadnought a ship class expected to be stronger than even standard battleship not to mention the much lesser cruisers. To be fair AI dreadnought has always been the strongest ship...why can't we players have that kind of dreadnought to play with :p

The dread works best in hit and run tactics. Cloak, find a target. Buff up, get with 5km, decloak, tractor, lance, CRF with dual heavy/quad cannons and turrets. Enemy explodes, or if they don't use engine battery and evasive out of combat range. Cloak again and repeat.

Well that's what I got from reading pvp posts with it.

Hit and run with a dreadnought?!
The word dreadnought means great survivability in battle in RL. A type of the foremost ship of line, the titans that can receive considerable punishment and deal the crippling damagae to enemy battle line.

Hit and run doesn't match the dreadnought name/designation
I'm not gonna hit and run with it in PvP you can't anyway most of the time in PvP. PvP is a furball once decloaked multiple ships will probably be targetting you.

Hit and run works well in open PvP like in Kerrat but alas that's NO MORE

First of all, RSP will take if u get alphed by a cloacked ship. And u can't "clock again an repeat", is not a battle clock.

And hit and run with a dreadnought? LOL, good luck with that, any escort can catch u without need of Evasive manuvers, APO more than enought, or just a engine battery.

That is one build that i've seen for the Dreadnought. A PVP build from a user named Hakaishin.
