Agreed that the Sovereign is lovely, especially with Reman shields. I just couldn't get a build I was happy with, and recently dismissed it.
As a Tac captain it made sense to fly an Assault ship, but I had a better tanking build with my Star Cruiser, and better DPS in my Defiant. It just never felt right, and no other build transferred appropriately.

I'm really happy with my Star build now. With the Aegis set and all Tachyon it's my Tron boat. Also the Borg engines look really great on it with a single tailpipe!

I can tank Tac cubes on Elite in my Sovreign I don't know what your doing wrong. And no the Super Torpedo is survivable and avoidable so it is possible.

Edit: While I do believe I could get better surviability out of the Eng Oddy with Workerbees, there are far too many of them out there right now and the new skin would have to look awesome, for me to costume it down the line.
