You will always get Lobi Crystals in addition to your regular lock box gear with every lock box you open.

I...I honestly can't tell if this is either a little better than the Cardassian run, or INCREDIBLY WORSE. I guess I won't know until I've seen the event in action.

The Lobi Crystal thing is just disappointing. This would've been better off with the lock box run coinciding with the release of new GPL rewards, and instead of getting Crystals from boxes, we would get a GPL pack instead. Other than that, the rewards seem better this time around and maybe it'll be worth opening common boxes.

How long will this lock box run last? There's no timetable on the calendar or blog post.

Overall, looks pretty good. Some will be vehemently against, but in theory, this is a good development of the lockbox system.

Oh, and the crystals come with every box? Great! Rewards those who spend points but don't win big, and it gives you a choice. Pretty good way of preventing the sense of worthlessness that hybrid batteries can sometimes bring. At least now everyone has something to put towards a special item they want.

That said, I hope they don't totally replace any ideas for cosmetic items in the latinum store. Perhaps older Lobi items will have versions in the latinum store when they're out of stock (like a single Warrigul puppy, but you can't get the whole set anymore).

A good sign, though you may want to ninja-edit the blog to head off repeat discussions in the morning.

Also saw the idea of a Latinum - Lobi conversion store, so can the options be considered of:

-Add a latinum to lobi conversion, or just add the Ferengi items to the Latinum store. Everyone on both sides have wanted that fleshed out anyway.

-Add lobi to the Ferengi mission dailies to preserve the work for profit theme.

Please consider or even suggest other options.

I mean come on. Please? I know the lock boxes are here to stay, but dam. Also, if im reading things right, it looks like there is another currency being added into the game, right beside ED, Dil, Latinum, and EDC... thought we were cutting currencies out... I just hope that if the crystals are a currency, that they will show up in the currency tab and not be more inventory clutter. Im almost out of space

*shrug* IF I'm going to open these boxes, I'll only do it for the outfits.

But knowing my luck, I'll either end up with nothing worthwhile, or multiple D'Kora vessels.

someone playing now wont even recognize what the game will look like a year from now. there are going to be so many lock box only items in game that only have a chance to drop. likely giving such unfair advantages that only those that spend a fortune on keys will reign supreme, these new consoles and weapon sets are very worrying. look at all this stuff that could drop, most of it they could sell in the c store at a fair price, but that's gonna earn them less money. a year from now 90% of the new stuff they add to the c store will be only available from these lock boxes. i really hate this direction they are taking, like i need more to be depressed about.
