And under that setup, my engineer has EPTS I and II, and reverse shield... I have NO hull healing abilities in this setup.

*nods* That's what I'm looking for. Thanks.

Thank you for ignoring every one of my caveats.... Jerk.
You do not need engine power. Set it to 25, and with your skills you will have ~40-45 - its enough.
As for aegis... just look on its stats... ofc its your choice, but it is much worse then even mk10 MACO... you WILL have problems if you will use aegis set...

As for hull heals... for me those HE and assimilated set first bonus (proc hull heal) are enough to compensate bleadthroug damage and accidental hull hits. But yes, basically if your shields are down you are dead. You must keep you shield up, and all those abilities will help. You may also use tactical team, it helps very much if you are hit by single strong enemy.

p.s. MK12 MACO shield and deflector + 4*:shield extender" consoles = 18k shield, in sci ship ofc.

And for those "science ships are useless"... i hear it from the game start. Yes, sci ship require more effort to be usefull than, say, escort, but isn't it more interesting?
They nerfed shield drains? They did right thing. Drains were overpowered. There are still good builds, for example stacking defensive abilities and consoles i can effectively tank things in stfs, donatra, sphere packs etc... and still deal 2-3-4k dps, which is usually better than all those pug escorts...

Drains OP? you musst be kidding me, its was literally the ONLY vaiable build, especially in PvP, remember this class need 125 on W S and A, thats more power than any other ship needs, and guess what, you can get that much power, hence you need to deplete shields using another technique

When you can deplete ALL shields in 5s it IS OP. No other class can do this.
And aniway when we have no new content, such changes make game interesting again - instead of using already tested and perfect build you have to search for something new, there is the interest...

BTW those build is not so good in STF's aniway. Yes it can strip shields fast from big targets and do good dps on single unshielded target, but every escort can do this. Most usefull thing sci ship can do in STF is good CC, imo. Hold those nanite spheres far from transformers, kill the probes in KA (you dont need high dps, just some CC), hold attacking ships away from Kang in cure. This usually fixes some teammate mistakes, and makes whole STF easier...
As for pvp... i dont really like pvp in STO, but yes, those build was good, now you have to find something new.

Alright, some preliminary stuff from my end.

I took the advice on here, and my Lt. Commander now has scramble sensors, tractor repulsion (a suggestion from a friend, and boy howdy does that help with STF), siphon power, and viral matrix.

My lt. engineer has EPTS I and II, and RSP.

My ensign has swapped his hazards for polarizing the hull

And I've swapped my torp buffs for tactical team and Attack pattern beta.

I also altered my power settings to something along the lines of 45/60/35/60.

My initial thoughts on this are, yes, my shields are now very good, very strong. They almost never go down (especially with the boosted distribution that TT offers). This is before I modified any of her equipment.

The problem I've got now, which I thought I might, is that I'm not being popped, I'm being deflated. Especially with multiple opponents, my crew simply can't keep up the hull against that 10% bleeding through the shields. It isn't much, but watching myself slowly die as I'm stripped 5% at a time is excruciating. I'm going to try dropping one of the EPTS slots to EPTA or engineering team. Some sort of hull heal. Thoughts on which one?

Get hazard emmiters, it will be enough. It will remove those plasma bebufs too. Also resilent shield has 5% bleadthrough instead of 10.
And i dont understand how do you kill someone with 45 weapon power.

Your totally right, no other class can deplete all shields in 5 seconds, but as escort can remove 1 shield and kil the hull in 5 seconds, in fact they can do it in about 2seconds against 14000 shield.
