That reminds me, are the Reman shields description updated? because if they are I think my characters are about to get 40k EC richer ...

I have to agree with the scheduling concerns - make it only available twice a day with a couple of hours cool down if you have to - but let people play it whenever they like.

On another note Branflakes - any thought of doing a rerun of the reman episodes? it would be a nice tie in to the new vault stf and there are plenty of new players who have never had a chance at the reman boff (despite during the mission text one of the remans on the ice base saying they would maybe like to join starfleet - my hopes were raised and dashed when i realised that was the original run/rerun reward). Since starting playing STO I have to say I enjoy the episode "theme" of the missions but I have yet to see a single proper rerun - let's face it if you turn on the TV you can watch pretty much any series of any version of Star Trek at any time of the day or night. I expected the same in the game. Unfortunately this hasn't been the case so far.

Honestly this event for me was a horrible experience because the Que Never POPed..

I wouldn't be surprised if the reasons were people Not in shuttles Queing up for it.

Something needs to be done about this.

I just wanted to throw in my agreement that a time-gated event is a poor idea. I have a full time job, a family, and have limited time to play. Usually after my little one is put to bed, and my wife falls asleep for the night. I have an hour or two of gaming time before I have to get to bed myself. I have yet to play any of the other gated events, and I know I will not be able to join in on this one either.

I have three shuttles sitting in my hanger, and have only been able to fly one on two very rare occasions for certain missions. I really was looking forward to trying out the two that I actually paid C-Points for. This new shuttle mission had me giddy with enthusiasm until I found out it was a time-gated event.

Ah well... I guess I'll just take the shuttles for a joyride in some of the random encounter missions or something...

Here's another vote for an STF style structure for the new shuttle mission. I really would LOVE to play this mission, but I really don't see it happening...

Stupid Implementation! Giving it an 'hour' event window on the calendar and then having massive amounts of players (400+) queue up and just sit there waiting! Who's bright idea was that?

What was so bad about accepting a mission and then going to do it whenever?

Thanks for adding something new to the game. But I probably won't play it, ever. And here's why: I suspect it will be like the Defera event which is almost never live when I get the chance to play and the few times it has been I've been in the middle of doing something else.

To me these timed events are kind of like the Birthday or Christmas gift that that one crazy relative (you know the one) always gives you. Their heart was in the right place, but it's not something you ever wanted or will ever use.

Just gave it a go. Definitely should have had some testing done before going live.

No bugs but a few flaws.

Instructions on the first part tell you nothing. There's no mention of the relays requiring the players to activate them and Obisek's vocals simply say "Rerouting to Location X" took one run just to figure out the first part.

Second run we completed what was required of us but the hidden timer between mission sections took too long and time expired. If you want it done in 3 minutes instead of 5 make it a 3 minute timer and not a 5 minute timer with hidden internal timers.

Haven't even bothered to try this second hour period. Having to do this a dozen times or more to get the items needed for the stuff is pretty lame and I've already got enough grinding to finish with the STFs. Especially given the specific time periods instead of a cooldown like other STFs, this IS an STF, don't try to convince yourselves otherwise.

I'm giveing up on this event. it's impossible to get in and it is only active for 1 hour, one time a day or even less, it seemed like a good idea but now when I saw how it was put into the game it just seems badly planed and made.

I wasn't the OP to what you're referencing, but the benefit gating affords is in controling peak-time server demands. By gating off-hours, you can control maximum server load.

That being said, not really a fan of time gating either. I'm a professional and I have a family, too. My only intention is to state the benefit, since that is what you are asking for.
